Jade’s POV

I replaced the glass on the counter. I had taken a loan through Devon’s help. It wasn’t stolen. What kind of trouble had this man put me in?

Fighting the urge to stomp out from the kitchen, I bit my lips painfully, awaiting more explanations.

“Okay, Jade would never collect a loan from anyone. More or less steal one.” I heard Amara defend me.

She wasn’t aware yet I took a loan but her last point stood, I’d never steal. Where was Devon going with this?
