Chapter 5 A Mermaid

Chapter 5 A Mermaid

Chapter Five – A Mermaid.

Henry’s POV

Another thing about being Alpha is that you can’t have women as freely as you want. Your body and wolf became numb towards other women.

My wolf being three times stubborn than other wolves didn’t even allow me have physical contact.

That was my actual reason for not messing with girls cause my wolf, Jesse, won’t let me. Except our mate, the future Luna and I craved for her.

They were really important to Alphas as they were basically batteries for our everyday mental health.

Soon to be Alphas were usually gifted theirs early enough, at fifteen or sixteen or seventeen. I’m at seventeen and I’m yet to even sniff her.

Hence my very twisted mental health, it was by the moon goddess' grace I wasn’t mad. I tied my horse at the usual tree and took off my clothes.

I noticed I was subtly loosing the abs but my arm muscles were very intact. I’d be hitting the gum again, if my duties let me.

The lake was clear like the sky and reflected the moon above it. Under it, I let the psychotic madness seeping into my head, flow it’s course.

There was a ripple on the lake, that doubled about till it got to me. The lake never ceased to enthrall me, I walked bewitched towards it.

It was the only comfort I could feel, even my mother’s warm hugs could not quieten down the strange voices in my head. I needed a mate bad.

My wolf moaned in pleasure as we submerged inside the lake. I sank in deeper and let the water brush through my skin.

It was like the moon goddess was rubbing her soft and delicate skin on me. My twisted mind imagined lots of things.

I ran the water through my dirty blonde hair and watched it drop back, some streaming down my chest. It was soothing.

Then I saw a vision, courtesy of my twisted mind, a mermaid swimming towards me? She looked fair skinned and delicate, and her fin was as green as her eyes.

I laughed at my thoughts. She looked like someone, someone I had in mind already. I'm sorry Jade.

I felt my organ harden as the mermaid reached for my chest, stroking them. Wasn’t this supposed to be a vision? I wanted to push her off. She wasn’t real but her hands went down.

My body stiffened as she grabbed my organ. She was crazy. It was a vision, I reminded myself, or again, just my twisted thinking.

She stroked it playfully before she swam away. My wolf snarled at my thoughts. We should wait for our mate but… whatever.

Breaking my blissful moment, my horse neighed, signaling me that someone was coming closer. It acted like a wolf sometimes.

I let the water hide my lower body and basked under the moon, my head relaxing on the soft shore sand. I picked up soft footsteps and knew who it was.

“This isn’t your normal resting place, Jake”.

The footsteps stopped, I could hear his feet shaking, “Alpha, you’re here?”.

I smiled, he was one human who called me Alpha, even when he wasn’t part of my pack and I wasn’t Alpha yet.

All I did was save him from wild wolves and he seemed even more loyal to me than Scott.

“Yeah, I come here a lot so I know you don’t” I turned to him. He was fondling his foam and mattress, looking downwards, I wondered if he was sleeping here.

“Well, yeah, a forest isn’t my ideal place to sleep” he met my gaze and looked down again.

He was ways shy. I didn’t want to accept it was my looks, or aura. Maybe he was just that way, with werewolves.

“But Jade has been ranting about her crush. I rather stay here than hear her speak on Devon” he continued, with a smile.

I smiled back but it fell soon. Jake was twin brother to Jade, and living with her, a trouble magnet, wasn’t the easiest thing.

But how could she have a crush on Devon? I could guess that was why she cursed at me. I felt quite hurt to know. Devon wasn’t a nice person.

A small wave at the lake came towards me, tickling my organ down below. I let out a pleasurable moan and raised my head. Was the moon goddess trying to console me?

“Jade really has bad taste. Devon would leave her heart in thousands pieces”.

One thing I know about my rival was that he loved many women.

Jake agreed immediately, “Yes, but Devon isn’t so bad with her. Like, he is usually nice to her. Just I doubt he’d ever be serious with her”.

I moaned, there goes the first girl I felt attracted to. She liked someone else, I was invisible.

Despite being an Alpha, I tried not to intimidate humans with my aura or forced them to reverence me.

If I wanted her, she’d have no choice but to be with me, but I'd wait for my mate. My wolf wouldn’t let me mark anyone else.

Jake laid his foam and mattress besides the tree my horse was tied to. It’s branches was spread apart so it was good for shelter.

“There's a warmer blanket OK my horse, use it” I advised. His face flushed and he nodded, reaching for it.

I laid back and tried to get back to my relaxing moment with the lake but another footsteps came to my ears. I dived into the water in annoyance.

“Devon?” I heard Jake ask. My wolf boiled and wanted to come back to the surface but I restrained it.

He should just leave and that mermaid come back, that’d be better. Jake's heartbeat doubled and I could hear Devon wasn’t alone.

“Yeah, I wanted to ask you” I heard Devon’s deep voice. He’s been away for almost nine months and had grown a lot.

“Is Megan single? I mean, just a random question. The Alpha’s daughter, is she single?”.

And now, what did that prick want with my sister!

Megan was twenty-two and was never into younger boys. Devon never looked her way either. Why the sudden interest?

Jake stuttered, “No,.. I guess. She is always with Luke, that… that bar guy. I guess he’s her mate. Why? Jade is into you”.

I didn’t know what Devon did but Jake scoffed, “And you aren’t into her, right? Then tell her before she gets deeply hurt”.

“Now you know, tell her”. What a bastard!

“She won’t listen” Jake groan, “She'd think I’m just trying to stop her from some strange happiness you’d give her”.

Devon chuckled, “Well, I can make her happy. In many ways than one. But, my goal for coming back, isn’t for women. She’s just a nice friend”.

And I didn’t have to think far anymore. Devon did come back for trouble. And my sister was somehow mingled in his plans.

“Well, there goes my poor sister’s heart, broken…”.

“She is smart but stubborn. I’m sure she won’t let go of me easily so I’d make her useful to my plans. Thanks for the info” Devon boasted.

I knew the heaviness Jake felt, I could feel it, or maybe it was my own. Jade can’t be anyone’s puppet. But for a guy she likes, I wouldn’t know.
