#Chapter3
Seven.
Never heard of that name but then again, I had never met any of the Elites to hear of any of their names but now I knew to be wary of whoever this Seven guy was. Surely he couldn’t be too happy about the humans kidnapping his sister and by the way she was so frightened for the humans, I could only assume that he had to be a very powerful Elite.
Stupid Mike.
Why would he go and kidnap an Elite? Not only that but he had to kidnap this guys sister specifically. I wondered how he even did it but I didn’t have time to think about that now as I heard footsteps approaching.
“Ok listen, I’m going to do whatever I can to get you out of here ok?”
Taking in the girls weak smile as she nodded at me, my heart broke. Poor girl. She didn’t seem like she was a bad Elite at all, how could my kind be so harsh on an innocent person? Elite or not.
“May I know your name?”
I ask her as I gently pull the blanket further up on her, worried that soon her small ounce of comfort would be taken away from her when Mike comes in here to retrieve me and sees that I have unrestrained her.
“I am Rue.”
She says gently just before we both look towards the door as it opens and in comes Mike with several of his men right behind him.
“I knew you would do something stupid like this Mila.”
He sighed as he looked over to Rue, who was now curled up under the blanket, afraid for her life the poor girl.
“Please don’t harm her, punish me if you have to, she didn’t do anything wrong, I took her down from the restraints.”
I stood in front of her, trying to hide her from the merciless look within Mikes barbaric eyes but it was no use, he was already pissed off and he didn’t have any issue showing it as he strode over to me, though I’m sure he was walking to Rue, I was just in his way.
“Get out of my way.”
He warned as he gritted his teeth together and I knew that anger in his look meant danger and I wasn’t willing to let him get to her so easily. After all, I felt responsible for this. I just couldn’t understand why they were treating her so harshly, did we not learn from the Elites treating humans harshly for us not to do the same?
“She is a mere Alien. She has no place in our world, what happens to her is none of your concern Mila or have you forgotten what her kind has done to our kind? Have you forgotten that the reason we’re in this mess, having to hide in our planet is because of these disgusting creatures?!”
He was yelling now and I knew that I may have just made things worse for Rue and I would never forgive myself if any harm came to her because of my actions and so, I stood my ground, refusing to move, I shook my head at the furious man before me.
“Two wrongs don’t make a right Mike.”
And with that, he let out a malicious laugh into the silence of the room, his voice echoing off the steel walls as he stared me down.
“She does not get a bed and a blanket and you will not get in my way again.”
He said so matter of factly as he shoved me to the side so hard that I fell onto the floor, the same time Rue jumped up with concern in her eyes, even though she was the one in danger, she was worried about me, I couldn’t help but feel helpless as one of the guards grabbed me into a tight hold while Mike and the rest of his guards picked Rue’s fragile form up and threw her onto the floor, two of the men holding her down while Mike started to undo his belt.
No.
No.
He couldn’t.
This wasn’t right.
What was he doing? And why?
Feeling sick to my stomach, I screamed for him to stop as he started to strike her beaten and bruised body over and over again with his belt as he unzipped his pants.
“STOP IT! STOP!”
I cried out, tears spilling down my face, I couldn’t hold them back as I watched them torture her before Mike stopped momentarily and turned to me slightly as he smirked;
“You can stay for the show, this will show you not to help an Elite, ever again.”
And with that, he got on top of the poor girl and began assaulting her as she lay there silently, not even begging for help or crying for their mercy. She just simply… took it and that, that made me wonder how many times they had done this to her, how many times had they… beaten and raped her?
“Punish me, please, punish me, it was all my fault.”
I cried as I fell to my knees, closing my eyes, I couldn’t watch him rape her anymore, I couldn’t watch him hurt her. I couldn’t.
“Please.”
I begged, though my voice was barely a whisper now, having lost my fight, I couldn’t stop the guilt from suffocating me. I had done this. This was my fault. If I had just left her as she was, they wouldn’t be doing this to her right now.
Drowning out the groans of the sick bastard, I fell into a dull mode, almost like I was in a trance, I let my tears dry against my face and waited for all of it to be over. I barely noticed when they dragged me out of the room and threw me out of the building. God I barely noticed myself walking outside of the invisible city.
Walking aimlessly, I couldn’t seem to catch my breath. I had caused a girl to be beaten and raped. I had caused her to be broken down more than she already was and I did absolutely nothing but stand there and watch. Feeling sick, I bent over as I threw up, spilling out my guts, I just then began to pull myself together and come to my senses.
Realising that I had walked way far from the safe zone, I quite frankly didn’t know how I had got here but when my eyes fell onto the large shadow that was rushing towards me, I realised that I had made my second mistake of the day.
Before I could get the chance to react, large arms wrapped around me and then a hand came crashing down on my mouth, silencing my screams, I didn’t get a second to fight my attacker because just before I could find my balance, he injected something into my arm and then… well then… everything started to blur.
Removing his hand from my mouth as my screams became more of a whimper, I managed to get out a ‘who are you?’
And his answer, his answer chilled me to the bone right as I passed out as he responded with;
“Seven.”
