“Ahhh!” I scream my heart out when, whoever that someone was, suddenly pops out at my front without warning.
“Hey! Chill out!”
I heard her voice, wait! Is she, “Nys?!” my eyes almost pops out because of the shock that she cause me, after what happened to me last Friday night, though I still don’t remember the whole thing, all my senses gets into chaos.
“Did you I scare you?”
“Isn’t is it obvious!” I almost scolded her.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean it.” She said in an apologetic face and it makes me feel guilty.
“Alright!” I surrender then heavily sigh. “What are you doing here? And why are you following me, like a stalker?”
“Suk ask me to guard you.”
“Why? Didn’t you tell me that District Three and Four are protected with a shield by the Sorcerers? So why do you need to protect me, if this place is safe enough for me to continue my normal life?”
Yes, I still remember some of her statement when the first time she came to my house, the explanation that took me in daze still imprints in my head even though my mind was floating because of those absorb information.
“Wow! You’re quite a listener even though your mind was floating, you still remember that important information.” Nys gladly replied.
“Of course! That’s important, but that is not the point! What exactly are you doing here?”
Nys shyly smiles at me and it seems she really did want something else.
Winx Restaurant, District Three
I look around the whole place and I cannot imagine myself to be here, not in my entire life.
“Harriet, its fine.” I heard Nys told me and that made me look back at her.
“I don’t think I should be here.” I said after we sat down at the private room that she already reserved earlier today.
Winx Restaurant is one of the five star restaurants at the District Three, one of those famous restaurants with a high price food and only those rich and well known people can eat and she doesn’t belong here.
“Come on! It’s my treat!” Nys said with a smile.
“Still, why do we need to talk here? We can talk somewhere else.”
“Aren’t you comfortable?”
“Kind of…” I answered honestly but I quickly added. “Anyway, that isn’t important!” she stares at me clueless. “What? Did you forget why you brought me here?”
“Oh! About that!” she stops when a waitress comes in and took out our orders. “Alright,” Nys begins after we’ve left alone. “The truth I’m here to discuss about your decision.”
“My decision?”
“Yes,” she nodded. “Well, you have the right to decline Suk’s offer but it will be inconvenient for the both of you if you’ll stay away from him.”
“Alright, to clear things up again, you had told me that District Three and Four were protected against those Reapers, right?”
“Yes, I did.”
“Then, why do you need to bring up that topic?”
“It is because it isn’t only about those Reapers but also from the others like us. The other Half Bloods, Pure Blood and the Sorcerers/Sorceress, they are also the reason why we need to bring you to our Mansion.”
“What do you mean?”
“Having a mark means a lot mostly when it came from the Royal Blood like Chisuke and he isn’t just a Royal Blood he is the second prince of Aviaq Family. Soon to be the next heir of the throne,” she seriously stated.
“Wh-what did you just said?” I stammer of the knowledge that she told me and he was the next of the throne? What the hell is going on?! Why did I entangle myself to someone so famous? Why he?
“Yes, indeed.” Nys answered. “Suk is the second son of the Aviaq Family making him the direct heir of the throne since that the eldest was a girl he had no choice but to inherit it. Making you the next Queen once he finally sat down at the throne. Specifically you are already our princes after receiving the mark from him. The reason why, we wanted you to come and stay at our Mansion just to make sure that you won’t be hurt or be in any danger.”
“But… I never ask of this thing! I’m not even qualified to be his wi--” I was cut off when someone knocks at the door and Nys let it come in and serves us our order. The waitress took a minute before she was done and finally left us alone.
“I know it is kind of shocking on your part but--”
“No! I think he really needs to take off this mark.”
“But he cannot.”
“Why?”
“What happened the first time he remove it?” she asked me in a serious tone.
I remember and it almost took my life as if it burns me through my core. “I… I almost died.”
“You see. You’ve already knew the answer.”
“But why?”
“Well, that’s the rule of marking someone, if the mark already stayed for five to seven days it won’t remove unless that person is ready to die or if the one who gave it wanted that person to die.”
I fright from the thought of me being dead or even be killed by the hands of a Vampire if only I didn’t choose to pass that alley maybe… “Ahh!” my head suddenly aches.
“Harriet what’s the matter?” Nys asked worriedly.
“Nothing,” I answered between my breaths. “I think, the more you explain everything to me. The more I can remember the thing that happened to me that night. When I choose to walk at the back alley of District Five,” I honestly answered as I massage my temple head.
“You just forgot about it because of your fear but slowly you’ll regain it in time.”
“Yeah, even though I don’t like that idea.”
“You’ll get used to it.”
Really? I doubt it! I silently said to myself.
