…Dream…
I quickly run as I can but those monsters with bloodshot eyes keeps coming at me and I couldn’t help but to scream for help but no one comes to save me. In the end, all I could do is run as fast as I can yet my feet gets numb and I’m about to fall when someone catches me before I landed.
I was about to thank whoever it is but to my surprised after looking at the stranger, I see his eyes, a golden red eye, and as I comes closer it became deeper. Before I could move or react, he already bites me through my neck. Although the pain of his fangs that I should feel never occurred instead, the burning sensation is what I can feel.
It is too hot as if it burns me into my core, I try to push him, harder than I can but I cannot since that he was stronger than me and all I can do is to scream in pain.
…Awake…
I finally awake from my dream, or better say it is a nightmare. I sat down from my bed and sweep off the sweat off of my forehead.
“Really? What was that?” I asked myself in clueless. Still I cannot figure it out and all I can do is do my morning routine before going to school.
Heaven Nursery School, District Three
“Another nightmare?” I heard Coleen asked me and it is our lunch time.
“Yes.” I already told her about it ever since I dream of it, and it’s been five days since I started to dream that nightmare and still I don’t know why I am dreaming of it.
“You still couldn’t recall what happened to you after you left the Purple Bar, right?”
“Yes.” And she was right, I don’t have any recollections of what happened to me and how did I got home that night. “I swear, I cannot remember anything.”
“Well,” it shrugs. “Maybe you were too afraid of recalling it since that your nightmares were entirely about those Reapers.”
Reapers, the undead, they were humans before they became a Reapers that hunts for a fresh blood. They were killed by those Vampires who only suck blood without marking them, and it is taboo for a Vampire to drink blood from humans without marking them or making an oath to be their partner and also their food blood. That results to create a Reaper that seeks only for blood, although they have a weakness, they can never go out of light and the reason why the Reapers can only be seen at night time.
“But why I can’t remember I single thing that night?” I curiously asked her. “And ever since that day, I feel like, there was a pair of eyes watching me from a far. Just silently watching me…”
Yes, I can feel it. There is someone watching me and even if I don’t see it, it is the same person that I see in my dreams. The man that burns me all throughout, although I can’t remember his face because all I can remember was his eyes. Those golden red eyes and that information were kept on me. I didn’t tell it to Coleen since that she might say, I already met a Vampire in a flesh.
“Maybe because you’ve seen them and you just deliberately erase it on my mind but your consciousness keeps telling you about it.”
“I don’t know.” I simply answered as I unconsciously rub my shoulder.
“Hey, you’re always rubs your shoulder.” Coleen noticed my behavior.
“I can’t stop it. As if, it burns,” I honestly said.
“Well, let me check on it!” She said and before I can protest she already grab me and pull down my shirt. “God! Its swelling.” She said that made me look too.
“Yeah!” all I could say.
“Gosh! Alright, let’s go at the infirmary.”
Infirmary, Heaven Nursery School
“Teacher Coleen,” Dr. Willow, the doctor of our school. “Can you live us alone? I need to talk to Teacher Harriet privately.” She politely asked.
“Is it serious?” she worriedly asked.
“Kind of.”
“Dc.?” I worriedly look at her but she just give us a smile.
“What was that?” we said in unison.
“I’m just joking.” She said. “But I really need to talk to her alone, so I hope you understand Teacher Coleen.”
It took Coleen a minute before she decides. “Alright then, I’ll go.” She said and left.
“So, what is it Dc. Wilson?” I nervously asked her.
“Have you met a Royal Blood Vampire?” she seriously asked without any hesitation on it.
“Wh-what?” I surprisingly asked her and it shows through my face.
She sighs. “It seems, whoever it was, he erase your memories.”
My memories… and yes! I cannot recall anything that night after I left the bar and don’t tell me.
“No! I…” hesitation suddenly fills me.
“You’re having a nightmare.”
“How did you know?!”
“It really happens when someone already given a mark. A side effect after you get that mark then afterwards erases your memories of that encounter.”
A mark? I unconsciously hold my shoulder.
“But, I don’t have a mark.” Because I really didn’t see it, and all that I see is just swelling because of my frequent rubbing.
“You’ll see it clearly soon.”
“What?” I am puzzled to what she just said.
She smiles at me. “How long have you lost your memories?” she asked instead.
“Five days.”
“Then, after two days, that mark will fully show, which is why you shall not wear a shoulder off cloths it may only attracts eyes if they see your mark.”
I’m speechless, I still couldn’t believe what she just told me, and yet she one thing was right. My memories of that night were all erased.
Meanwhile…
“Chisuke,” it was Rafa.
“What?”
“Aren’t you going to bring her to our mansion?”
“No.”
“But in two--”
“I know. But I need time.”
