“Those bitches. Why would they treat you that way? I bet they are jealous because you are more beautiful than they are,” Lola said angrily.

I simply chuckled at her reaction. We were sitting down to a late dinner, catching up on my first day of work. I had arrived home about an hour ago and Lola insisted we had dinner together. Her statement erupted after telling her about my encounter with the other nurses at the hospital.

“Well, I don't blame them. I guess they're just scared of having a new person around. I believe they will adjust with time,” I said.
