I froze, not knowing what to reply. His piercing gaze was still fixated on me, making me believe they were capable of reaching into my soul.

“I'm…I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. It's just…” I was saying until I got cut short by Head Healer Ryder.

“Are you kidding me? That was incredible” he said, his voice dripping of admiration and praise.

I looked at him with a shocked expression and said,

“Really?”

“Of course. Your healing abilities are impeccable,” he answered.

I stood still, dumbfounded as I watched the man who had not long ago scorned my qualifications, now singing my praises.
