I turned back to face the inscription on the wall and studied the writing. The words seemed to dance before my eyes, but I focused on the pattern.
"Ryder, I think I see it," I whispered.
"The riddle is a poem."
Ryder leaned in, his breath warm against my ear.
"What does it say?"
I recited the poem, my voice steady:
"Where shadows fall, light rises
In darkness lies the key to might
Seek the heart of the crystal's fire
And claim the essence, your hearts' desire"
The wolf nodded, its eyes gleaming.
