CHAPTER FIVE

LISA's POV

The morning air was crisp as my father and I hurried towards the bus station, my heart pounding with a mixture of fear and determination. Beside me, nestled in a picnic basket, my son slept peacefully, unaware of the turmoil brewing around us.

As we approached the station, a knot of anxiety tightened in my stomach. I scanned the crowd, half-expecting to see him—Draco, the man I once called my husband—emerging from the throng with anger in his eyes.

Sure enough, my worst fears were realized as Draco stormed towards us, his expression twisted with fury. My father's hand tightened around mine, offering silent support as we braced ourselves for the confrontation.

"Lisa!" Draco's voice cut through the noise of the station, sending a chill down my spine. I turned to face him, my heart racing with apprehension.

He came to a halt before us, his eyes ablaze with anger. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" he demanded, his voice sharp with accusation.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves as I met his gaze. "I am leaving," I replied, my voice steady despite the turmoil swirling inside me.

Draco's expression darkened, his jaw clenched with anger. "Leaving?" he repeated, his tone incredulous. "You think you can escape without me knowing?”

My heart sank at his words, but I refused to back down. "I can do however I please," I insisted, desperation creeping into my voice. "It's not safe for us here anymore."

But Draco wasn't listening. His fury boiled over, his fists clenched at his sides. "You're not going anywhere," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

I glanced down at the picnic basket beside me, silently thanking the stars that my son remained hidden from Draco's sight. "You took my child from me and you still want to keep me imprisoned? I'm not your pet!”

“You are a prisoner, and should have gotten worse treatment than what I’m offering you.” His eerily cold voice caused goosebumps to sprout on my skin.

“Just let me go, please,” I begged, my voice small, almost a whisper.

Understanding was the last thing on Draco's mind. His eyes bore into mine, his words dripping with malice. "If you walk away now, don't bother coming back," he threatened, his voice cold and unforgiving. "You'll have no place in my pack, no place in my life.”

His words cut through me like a knife, but I refused to let him see my pain. With a heavy heart, I turned away, my father and son by my side. "Goodbye, Draco," I whispered, my voice barely audible over the din of the station. “I lost that place when you locked me up with your slaves.”

As we boarded the bus and it pulled away from the station, carrying us away from the life we once knew, I couldn't help but steal a glance back at Draco. His expression was unreadable, a mixture of anger and hurt swirling in his eyes but I knew that I had made the right decision, for myself and for my son.

Draco’s POV

Frustration prickled beneath my skin as I trudged back home, my mind swirling with the audacity of Lisa's actions. How could she leave our child with me?

The very thought of it sent a surge of annoyance coursing through me. I had believed I had her firmly in my grasp, thought she was vulnerable, but she had proven to be stronger and more cunning than I had anticipated. The image of her slipping away, evading punishment, haunted me with every step.

As I got to the front door, there was Vivian, looking all remorseful about trying to stop me earlier. She started saying sorry, like she realized she messed up big time.

"Draco, I'm really sorry for what I did earlier," she said, sounding all sincere. "I know I messed up, and I feel awful about it."

But even though she seemed sorry, all I could think about was Lisa's betrayal. It was like a broken record playing in my head, driving me nuts with anger.

"Look, Vivian, I appreciate the apology, but now's not the time," I replied, not really in the mood to chat. I just wanted answers.

But Vivian wasn't about to let it go. She followed me into the living room, looking all desperate to make things right.

"Come on, Draco, I messed up, but I really want to fix things," she pleaded, giving me those puppy dog eyes. "I never meant to hurt anyone."

I hesitated, feeling a bit softened by her sincerity. Despite my anger, I couldn't ignore that she seemed genuinely sorry.

"Alright, Vivian," I sighed, relenting to her apology. "I accept your apology. But don't think it erases what happened."

Vivian's face lit up with relief, thanking me profusely as if I'd just saved the day. But then, without warning, she stepped closer, her hand reaching out to caress my cheek, her touch sending a shiver down my spine.

"Draco," she whispered, her voice soft and inviting. "I'm so grateful for your forgiveness. Let me show you how much I appreciate it.”

Her words were like a siren's song, tempting me to give in to the warmth of her touch. But before I could react, she leaned in, her lips brushing against mine in a tantalizing kiss.

"Not today,” I pushed her off of me, sidestepping her.

Vivian's expression shifted from seduction to disappointment in an instant, her hand dropping from my face as she realized her advance had been rebuffed.

"I'm sorry, Draco," she murmured, her voice tinged with regret. "I didn't mean to overstep."

I shook my head, trying to shake off the lingering effects of her touch. Anger simmered beneath the surface, fueled by her bold move. "It's not okay, Vivian," I snapped, my tone sharp with irritation. "You need to remember your place.”

Her eyes widened in surprise at my harsh words, but I didn't soften. "As much as I might hate Lisa right now, she's still the mother of my child," I reminded her, my voice firm. "You'll never be in her place in my life, no matter what."

With that, I turned away, leaving Vivian standing there, chastened by my words. As I stormed off to focus on finding Lisa, I couldn't shake the anger that coursed through me at Vivian's audacity.
