Chapter 4

Chapter 4

*beep beep beep*

"Oh no, it can't be morning already." I swiped left to silence the alarm tone on my phone. I looked at the time and saw it was 6:30 am. "Oh God help me. I'm not ready for today." I mumbled to myself then I slowly got out of bed and to my bathroom.

My room had an end suit bathroom and walk in closet. My walls were painted with one of my favorite colors grey but it wasn't dark grey, instead light grey. Just so the room is bright. It wasn't what my parents had painted it when I was young. They thought because I was a girl pink was what the room should look like. EVERYTHING was pink literally EVERYTHING. I even hated coming to my own room sometimes. One day I decided I couldn't live with it anymore so I told them I want it changed.

*Flashback*

"Sweety I think you not thinking straight. Pink is lovely and every girl's color." Mom said in her soft voice trying to convince me to change my mind. I was ten at the time.

"Mom I told you and dad before pink is not my color. I'm in love with black and other nude or dull colours. Pink makes me feel like those dolls you used to buy me when I was little. Why do you guys not understand that?" I really hoped they let me change it.

"Honey I think she has a right to choose what she wants she's old enough now." Dad said looking at mom.

"Vaughn she's still a little young." Mom protested.

"Mom come on. You know very well that's not true. I know what I want." I sat on my bed and she sighed.

"Honey let's give her what she wants she's a good girl she actually deserves it." Mom looked at me one last time before turning to dad.

"Only if she promises not to beg us to change it again in a few years saying she doesn't like it anymore." Her words formed a smile on my face.

"I promise I won't mom. Yes!!" I jumped off the bed and ran to give her a hug. Dad chuckled at my reaction and pat my head.

"Well baby we'll have it changed by tomorrow okay?" I nodded while she kissed my forehead. Yes!!

"Well then Princess tomorrow you are having your room changed, should we also change your wardrobe?"

"Yes I don't like those pink clothes dad." He nodded.

"Very well then, today you'll go shopping with your mom to buy you new clothes with your colors." My dad gave me a big smile and I smiled back and nodded. I ran and gave him a big hug as well. He always made sure I got what I wanted and I loved him for that.

"I'll tell Rose to take the pink stuff to charity. There are some kids who need them you know." Mom announced and I felt really proud of my parents for always giving to needy people, when there was excess.

End of flashback

I got out of the bathroom and blow dried my hair. Rich long ink black hair like my dad's. My mom had wavy blonde hair. But mostly the Davisons had black so that is what I always said I'd use to identify a Davison.

I walked into the closet and walked to my school uniform section. I went to a private school so we had uniform. I'd always find it ironed by Rose in my closet. She was heaven sent.

I grabbed everything I needed including a blazer today. I loved a blazer because I thought it made one look smart and that's what the principal loved about me. Always neat.

I chuckled to myself as I took it out. I went to put my clothes on my bed and started dressing up. I looked in the mirror and was satisfied by my look. I did look smart. I picked my books and shoved them in my bag and put my wrist watch on my left hand. I looked at the time and realised it was 7:11 am.

"I have to get downstairs now." I told myself.

"Kyla! Breakfast is ready!" Rose shouted from the door.

"I'll be down in a minute!" I shouted back to Rose. She always wanted me eating breakfast weather I wanted or not. 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day' her words echoed in my mind.

I walked out of my room and hurried downstairs then went to the dining area. "Good morning Rose." She smiled at me and showed me to my seat.

"Good morning sweety. You look beautiful as always." I smiled

"And you look gorgeous as always." She really does look great all the time, with her hair made up in a bun. She has blonde hair and beautiful dimples when she smiles.

"Oh honey stop fooling around I'm not gorgeous."

"Well I'm not...mmmm this is delicious."

"I'm glad you like it." Rose is the best cook I know. Today she prepared my favourite, blueberry pancakes with maple syrub and orange juice. It's almost summer so tea or coffee is not something I'd appreciate right now.

"Madam, the car is ready." Jerry said and I nodded. He took my bag and walked out.

"So what would you like for dinner tonight?" Rose asked as she poured herself some juice.

"You know I love whatever you make." I smiled at her and continued to eat.

"No you don't like when I make a vegetarian meal like your mother sometimes wanted." I hate vegetables I mean who loves kale? I know I don't. I like it when I don't see much of them on my plate. I'm more of a meat person. Although I don't get fat or anything. Just a curvy size 26 on the waist.

"Anything that has some meat please." I pleaded and she just laughed but nodded. "Thank you." I drank my juice and wiped my mouth. "I better get going before Jerry comes to drag me out. Bye." I side hugged her and left to the car.

I got in and we left for to the bus stop but I just wished Jerry could take me to school today, I just didn't want to have to face Alec today. The thought of him just sent chills to my spine. I thought of how we argued yesterday and I ended up getting home still angry at him and just throwing my uniform in the washing bin and sleeping till morning. I thought I'd wake up after an hour or so but I guess I was super exhausted to do so. It must be the lack of sleep from the past few days.

"You must be thinking about something annoying to have that kind of frown on your face miss Kyla." Jerry pulled me out of my thoughts and I realised he was right, I was frowning.

"I had an argument with a friend yesterday." I informed him.

"Alec?" I turned to face him immediately.

"How do you know? Oh I know, you saw us yesterday didn't you?" He chuckled.

"Yes I did see you two argue yesterday." I sighed.

"Jerry how do you deal with an overprotective friend?" That must be the only explanation he was being a dick. "I've never seen Alec like that before. He's always talked to me with respect and kindness." I shook my head.

"Is he angry you did something to him?" Jerry asked still concentrating on the road.

"No I didn't do anything to him Jerry. I-" the words disappeared and I found myself not being able to talk.

"It's okay Miss Kyla you don't have to tell me everything." He smiled then pat my shoulder with his right hand the other steering the wheel. "Listen Kyla" I lifted my head immediately he doesn't call me by my name much unless he wants to say something important and as a friend. "He will eventually come around. You two have been friends for years since you were very young. He loves you as much as you love him don't worry everything will be okay."

"As much as I want to believe you I doubt that will happen. He suddenly changed to something I've never seen before. My only fear is losing him as my friend. One I've grown with for years. A good friend at that." I blinked a few times to push back the tears threatening to come out.

"You won't lose your friend Kyla, I promise you. Just talk to him. I'm not saying immediately but eventually. Whatever made him angry cannot be that bad to ruin your friendship." I nodded at his words. He is right though communication always solves issues. That's what my dad taught me when I was little.

"Well I hope it's as easy as you say it is." he smiled and then continued driving till we reached our destination. He parked on his usual spot.

"Well madam, we have arrived." I sighed and turned to him.

"Thank you for listening to me, I know maybe I'm being a brat burdening you with my issues but thank you for bearing with the brat side of me." We both laughed at my words.

"Anytime" he winked. I got out of the car and grabbed my bag. I looked at the bus stop and saw that the others had already arrived including Alec. I looked at him for a minute and sighed. I then mumbled to myself.

"Here goes nothing."

He still looks pretty upset.

Well seems like I have to avoid him at all costs because I am seriously not in the mood for his arguments.
