I heard Peter chuckle softly before opening the door

. "Don't worry Adlar, you know she's in safe hands...she's safe now."

His face lightened slightly, and signs of relief appeared on his green face. She gave him a small smile and motioned for him to go.

He smiled back at me and bowed respectfully before making his way out with Peter.

I waited for nearly thirty minutes while I was sitting in Peter's office, drinking water one cup after the other, until I grabbed the copper water jug and raised it to pour more into my cup, only to be surprised that it was empty.

Looks like I drank it...
