A lot of questions were running through my mind but then I did not have the courage to ask him.

"Ava will come to get you all that you need for now. You can tell her anything you want and she will tell me. I'm busy lately and when I'm less busy I will come see you okay," he said firmly.

His voice was dry like I had offended him. This wasn't the man that was pleading for me to go with him.

"You don't need to bother anyone to take care of me. I can do that myself," I said.
