Two years later:
She had upped her game, her legs were longer, her boobs were the same but some of the flab’s were gone, but what held her back was the insecurities her ex-husband had left with her, she was in a way living in bad memories, she’d been beaten up emotionally, and it will take a long time before she lets go of that insecurity, it had eaten deep into her.
“Aurora if you could please give these, to the boss to sign” asks patience from the I.T department. She hands out a set of documents to Aurora, Aurora responds with a friendly smile as she leaves her desk to do what patience asks of her, she walks smartly towards the set of glass doors.
On getting to Clinton’s office the first thing she notices is the paper works heaped high on the office desk, it was like no one was working at all, but she knew better than to judge, after Diana left she made sure to cut off all ties with her son, she and James had been featured on multiple websites, with photos of them on various websites strewn across the web, their love was very much still waxing strong, and so that left Clinton with a lot of work, he made sure to take Jude everywhere he went, by noon Jude usually went to his father’s office suite to get taught by his home school tutor, all these precautionary measures were taken as a result of the kidnapping situation that made headlines a year ago, apparently Jude had been taken away from his former school, and a heavy amount of money was demanded as ransom, but compared to any amount of money, it was the peace of mind Clinton lost for a long time. He had learned a very painful lessons, the security on Jude has tightened tenfold, if he was to go spend a night at his grandpa’s house he would take a whole lot of escorts with him, Diana made sure to leave her dad’s problems in the hands of Clinton.
“I.T says you should sign this sir” Aurora says as she hands him the documents. As he takes the documents from her hand, he smiles at her freshly painted nails and says. “They’re stunning” Aurora blushes and shyly bends her head in response to the remark.
“Where’s Jude?” Aurora enquires. Clinton responds as he raises his head from the paperwork”, oh Jude is leaning.”
“However he’s been asking of you”, Clinton continuous as he flips pages upon pages, putting a pen where he is required to sign, looking through the documents again he asks. “I hope this is all, you’re bringing in here today, I really have tons of paper work to take care of by tomorrow”.
“I could help you, that is if you want me too, I mean… it doesn’t mean anything but…”
“What in the world are you talking about, Aurora? Of course, you are welcome to assist me, you’re one of the few people I trust in this company, you don’t need to act like a stranger too” Clinton adds as he rubs his forehead. He was exhausted, and the stress had begun to wear him down, yet that didn’t stop him from seeming as if he had just walked out of a magazine.
Clinton had always been a lovely man, his eyes as blue as the sea, his lips not really too thin, maybe a little plump, and his grins were to die for, everyone who saw Clinton had to look twice, it’s still a mystery why his wife left him for someone else, no one could understand that. Aurora could count times she had been enchanted by his beautiful grins, and his good boy behavior had won him a lot of awards in the business worlds, from best behaved to likable C.E.O, down to most charitable C.E.O.
“Okay, so how can I uh, help you then, I mean where should we work” he chuckles and there’s that thing that happens to her again, Hiccups.
“Are you okay?” Clinton asks her.
“Yeah...” she says, another hiccup cutting her off.
“Yeah I am”
“Okay, well we could…. How about dinner at my place, you could come along with Susan your friend, such a funny character” relaxes back on his chair and scratches his beard.
“She intrigues me you know, but anyways, since tomorrow is a Saturday, you both could come sleep over, stay with Jude for some time”
She smiles shyly and then focuses elsewhere.
“so this is the document” she nods and carefully walks out the door, Clinton carefully lets his eyes do all the talking as he dares not take his gaze away from beautiful Aurora; he felt compelled to hug and kiss her; she looked so lovely in her peach pencil skirt, the way she seemed to bring comfort simply by standing and looking lovely, he couldn’t understand why she couldn’t seem to see how envious people were of her appearance. Clinton begins massaging his forehead again, it was like the headaches, never seemed to want to leave. He looks around his office seeing all the work he has piled up himself, he needs to see what to do.
“maybe I could give some of my work to Aurora” he shuts that thought out of his head when it comes in, because he knows that she also has a lot of his work to do already, but the headaches were already causing him discomfort.
On getting home, Susan had already served a hot bowl of chicken soup, she says it’s for soul cleansing hence it should be their dinner for Friday. “I know what we have for dinner already but it is not chicken soup” says Susan as she walks into the sitting room.
“Such heresy!” comes Susan’s voice; she hurriedly rushes out of the kitchen and comes to meet her tired best friend.
“Why would you say that, I have told you countless times, that chicken soup is for the soul” she holds her best friends hand.
“I know, but remember you said the first step to falling in love is loving you, so I am trying to do what will make me happy” Susan nods at what she says and waves her hand, telling her to go on.
“So Clinton invited me over for dinner and I need to go help him, he says to bring you along insisting he likes your character” Susan blushes at this comment.
“So how does that have to do with loving you?” Susan asks her face somewhat quizzical.
“Well I do not know but I feel happy when I’m of good use”
“tsk, tsk, tsk,” Susan walks behind her bestie, placing her hand on her full hair she tells her.
“Loving you is doing good things for you, and doing good things for you is dressing up for this dinner date of a thing”
“Except it’s not a date” Aurora tiredly replies.
