Brie woke up as early as she used to. But out of her eyes saw a clean and tidy room. She didn’t know how she would feel like everything was a dream. It was true what happened last night that her father really let her go.

Soon, there was a knock on the door. So, she quickly sat down and waited for it to open.

“Ma’am Brie, have you eaten yet?”

The lady was carrying a tray full of food.

“I-it’s me,” she said and immediately helped the maid.

She didn’t know that this is how the rich are served here. It even brought it to the bedroom. The maid came out after putting the food on the table.

She suddenly remembered her siblings. If they have eaten already. If they went to school. She was just sad to remember that she could no longer go to school.

Brie’s life would change with this man. She did not know what would happen next. She was scared because of what it would do to her. She could not swallow the food properly because she did not work for it. And she knew where it came from.

After she finished what was on the plate, there was another knock on the door, so she immediately looked at it. She saw the man in formal clothes while looking at her.

‘Is that what she is wearing the whole time?’ she asked in her mind.

It approached her and looked at her seriously

. “Change your clothes. We’re going outside,” he said and put down a bag before going out.

She looked at the contents of the bag. A black dress, she didn’t know if she would wear it because she wasn’t used to it.

She adjusted herself before wearing that. It was just exactly her size. It’s beautiful, but she’s not comfortable wearing this, especially since she doesn’t have such clothes. Often, she only leaves with a simple t-shirt and jeans.

But she was even more surprised to see a box inside the bag. She opened it and saw the black sandal. It was just flat doll shoes, so it was okay with her. But she is still not convinced why she is wearing this. She still asks where they are going.

When she finished dressing up, she went down the stairs. She saw the man busy talking on the phone. Until now, she didn’t know its name. And what she would call it. There was still anger inside her. As a result, she will no longer be able to fulfill her dreams. She will no longer be able to study and become a Flight attendant.

“Let’s go.”

She was surprised when the man suddenly walked out of the mansion. She had no choice but to follow it. She stared out of the car as the man looked at her seriously.

“What are you waiting for?” the man asked seriously.

She has never ridden a car before, not even a taxi. She just silently looked out the car window while the man was driving seriously. No one tried to speak. They were both silent. But she could not bear this silence, so she spoke.

“Where will we go?”

The man didn’t answer her. But after a while, she was surprised when the car stopped. The man got off, so she got off as well. She followed the man. Just at the door, she saw what was written.

“Municipal Hall”

She suddenly remembered what the man had said. It said that they would prepare for their wedding tomorrow. They only had a few documents to pick up before they left. She is going to get married, and she can’t refuse anymore.

“Next week is our wedding,” the man said to her surprise.

“W-What?!” she asked, incredulously. The man looked at her.

“I told you last night. We were preparing our wedding,” it said and continued to drive.

She didn’t think she would get married in such a blink. She also didn’t expect everything. She wasn’t ready for this yet. She didn’t know anything about marriage yet.

They went home to the mansion. Even if she wanted to go to her siblings, she couldn’t, because she also didn’t know if the man would allow her. She walked around the whole mansion.

The man just dropped him after it left immediately. Its house is too big. It resembles a palace. From now on, she will live here so she will need to get used to it. She took a deep breath before heading back.

The vast garden and pool welcomed her. She was happy but deep inside, very sad because her siblings were gone.

“Ma’am Brie, sir, ordered you to eat,” said the maid as it stared at her.

She nodded before glancing at the garden again. She got to the kitchen. She saw that it was fully equipped. This was her dream kitchen in case she became rich.

And now she can use what she learned before in cooking. She saw that the maids were serving so she helped but it stopped her.

“We’re just the same here. Don’t turn me down,” she said while smiling.

“But Ma’am told sir—”

“That’s okay. I’m not doing anything here yet,” she said. They didn’t stop him. She prepared five plates on the table that surprised the maids.

“Let’s eat,” she said as she happily sat down.

“W-What?” the maids asked her, unbelievably.

“Don’t be shy. Come eat with me. It’s not fun to eat alone,” she says.

“But Ma’am, I’m sorry, it’s really forbidden.”

“I’ll take care of it, okay? You haven’t eaten yet,” she said and smiled.

She forced the four maids to sit down. The maids didn’t really think that they would be able to keep up with Brie. Because the man strictly forbids it in the mansion. That’s why they didn’t know if they would eat or not.

“Amen! Please eat,” she said and scooped food on the table.

The maids also scooped up. They were in the middle of eating when the man arrived. It looked at the helpers seriously. The maids immediately stood up and turned pale. She could see the fear in their eyes. The man did not speak and just looked at them.

“S-sir, s-sorry—”

But the man suddenly looked up before grabbing its coat and taking out ten thousand pesos.

“You may go,” it says.

“S-sir, S-sorry really—”

“One,” the man counted.

They didn’t have a choice but to leave. Brie was immediately surprised when the man looked at her seriously.

“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked seriously.

“I ate. What’s wrong? They haven’t finished eating—”

“I don’t care.”

She turned her attention when the maids came out with bags and dressed.

“Where are you going?” she asked.

She saw the poor maids look at her before shrugging their shoulders. She immediately looked at the man who was looking at them seriously.

“It’s my fault. I’m the one who insisted that they should eat,” she said to him.

“So what?” it answers to her.

“Don’t send them away. It’s me. It’s my fault,” she said.

It didn’t answer and just looked at her.

“P-please. Forgive them—”

“They disobeyed the rules.”

“I insisted, so don’t let them go. P-Please?”

It took a deep breath before picking up the phone and calling someone. After a while, the maids returned. They went straight to the maid’s quarters.

The man did not take long and left again.

A few hours passed. She was amused by looking at the things in the room. Not a single picture was missing. He didn’t know why but it seemed like the man’s path was too big. She didn’t know what happened to their parents, so she was the only one here.

She hadn’t finished her curiosity when there was a knock on the door. She immediately stopped and looked at it.

“Madam, Captain Claveria is already asking you to change,” said the man who turned formal.

It is her first time seeing it. So, she wondered who it was.

“By the way, I’m Meshua Calvin. Captain Claveria’s best friend” introduces himself in a funny way.

She didn’t think it had a friend. Fortunately, there is a lingering habit of being quiet and stuck.

“Friend?”

It smiled so the shock had come out even more. Reason for her to be stunned.

“Yap. Aren’t you wondering? But Captain is kind,” he said then smiled.
