Mark shut the door as I had ordered, and I had to slam a palm over my mouth, to stifle my own sobs.

The look of betrayal in her eyes, mixed with pain and hate, made me want to run in there and release her from her shackles, but I knew I couldn't. It was for the best, she just had to be in there for a while... everything would be over soon.
