Chapter 28

We leave at dawn. Just me, Drogo, Cole, and two other warriors. Derek wanted to come but Drogo made him stay behind to help Marcus protect what's left of the pack. He wasn't happy about it but he didn't argue.

The ride to my father's territory feels different this time. Last time I was desperate and stupid. This time I'm prepared. Or at least as prepared as someone can be when they're walking into a trap.

Drogo stays close to me the whole ride. Every time I look over he's watching me with this expression I can't read. Worried maybe. Or calculating the odds of us both making...
