Tess was going to get the knives from the abandoned warehouse when she suddenly felt uncomfortable, it was like a force was pushing her in another direction.
"What's going on?." She muttered as she moved her feet, heading to another way that isn't the route to the warehouse. She perceived a scent that filled her nostrils, she felt drawn and attached to the scent. It smelled like chocolate, a scent that lingered around her. She knew no one was around here and she had definitely not smelt that scent before, but something about it was exciting, it was reaching out for her.
She walked for a few minutes when she heard someone groaning, she immediately got alerted and she stared around, thinking someone was here to harm her. She didn't feel like she was in danger, it made the whole situation more confusing for her, she just felt like her whole sense was pushing her somewhere rather than where her father asked her to go. For the first time, disobeying her father didn't feel wrong and she was starting to get scared. But somehow she felt safe and secure, she hadn't experienced such feelings before and she didn't quite understand what it meant.
No one had ever told her something like this existed, except for her friend who told her about how Jason made her feel, what's it again? she couldn't recall properly because she wasn't really interested in what she was saying then. She doubted it was whatever she was told about, but she couldn't understand the sudden adrenaline pump into her blood.
"Mate?." She mumbled under her breath, this was all new to her. The whole feeling and she wanted to be sure she was feeling the right thing but she had no idea, she just let her sense lead her to wherever the smell was coming from.
She has no wolf, then how's it possible that she's been linked to her mate? many unanswered questions flooded through her head. She needed to find the smell so she could get her answer. She paused, the smell was rich around this area more than the road to the warehouse, she just needed to find out what was the source. She couldn’t see anything in sight so she decided to turn back and find the knives her father sent her.
She made to leave when her legs hit something hard, she bent over to check what was that.
She let out loud screams when she saw someone covered in blood, she looked at him properly but she couldn't recognize him, he's definitely not from their pack.
"What's he doing here?." She asked no one in particular.
"Find whoever it is!!." She heard her father's voice roaring around them, they were definitely nearby.
She felt a hand on hers and she flinched in fright, she isn't usually this scared, but this time it was different.
"Help me! Please help me.' Collins pleaded.
"This man must have done something wrong, but why does she feel so attracted to him, perhaps he is her mate?." She thought but when the man coughed out blood, her protective instinct kicked in, she felt the need to protect him, but she was confused on how to save him.
"Get me out of here." Collins managed to say weakly.
Tess's hands mistakenly touched his chest and he groaned in pain.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She apologized quickly, she felt sorry for him.
"Help me up." Collins said.
Tess held his hands gently and she helped him up.
He winced inaudibly trying his best not to scream.
She had nowhere to take him, but the abandoned warehouse suddenly came to her mind, there was no way her father would be able to search for him there.
She helped him up and he stood up weakly, he was limping because of the pains, but she's trying her best to make him move faster before the warriors found them. What she was doing made no sense but she did it anyways.
when she came out in the open, that was when she saw about three arrows stuck to his chest.
"Oh my goodness." She shrieked, it's the arrow made of silver and wolfsbane, no wonder he isn't healing.
She could tell her father was close by, and he'll get to them any minute from now.
She pulled him along and she increased their pace.
In no time they got to the abandon warehouse and she immediately rushed him in.
Collins felt the wolfsbane eating deep into his heart, he needs to pull out the arrows, else he'd die.
She sat him carefully on the floor and he winced, she could see his eyes slowly giving you up to nature.
"Don't don't!." She slapped his cheek, trying to keep him up, what's she's doing isn't right, but at the moment she didn't care at all.
Collins slowly growled and he spitted out black blood from his mouth, the wolfsbane was already having an effect on him.
"Pull the arrows out." He said lowly to her, but she could hear him.
"We'll get caught if I do that, I can't save you from them." She didn't wanna tell him that they're her pack members.
"Pull it out!, I'll endure." He said breathlessly.
"We must find him!, find him!." She heard her father yelling from outside.
Sweat was streaming down from Collins's body, he was shaking severely.
"Pull it out!." He mumbled under his breath.
"I can't." She said, if she's caught trying to save, she'd be punished by her father, he won't consider the fact that she's his daughter.
Collins couldn't bear it again, he lay on the floor and tried pulling out the arrows himself, but he had no strength to do it.
Tess felt sorry for him, she knew the wolfsbane must be cutting deep into his heart.
"I'll do it!." She found herself saying, he's hurting and it's kind of affecting her. Collins stared at her and he nodded for her to do it. Tess crept up to him and she held the tip of the arrow, she was actually holding one of the arrows. She knew it would hurt but if he was going to survive, she needed to pull it out first.
Collins bit his lips and he closed his eyes, he didn't want to shout so he wouldn't the people chasing him.
"Ready?." She said and he slowly shook his head. He was strong but something about the thesilver-infused wolfsbane in his blood made all his strength fly straight out of the window.
"Please don't get me caught." She said and he hummed. He was in pain, the wolfsbane from the arrow was eating deep into his flesh and it would only be a matter of seconds before he is dead. The thoughts of him dying in her presence were giving her the chills, she felt like it was something she doesn't even pray to witness.
She slowly pulled out the arrow from his chest, Collins felt excruciating pain, he screamed in a muffled voice but it was heard by the people outside.
"Search that place." She heard her father's voice scream at his men and she knew he was very angry, it wouldn't be long before he comes barging inside there to take this man away from her, she had no idea why she felt like she wouldn't be able to let go of his man she just met minutes ago.
Collins was still whimpering in pain, and the way he was doing, he might get them caught, she did the only thing in her mind. She bent down and slammed her lips on his, shocking him. Tess had no idea where the thought came from but she needed to do something to help him rid of the pain, she just wanted to do it for his sake.
"Let it all out." She mumbled between kisses and her hands went to the next arrow on his chest. She pulled it out, and Collins screamed, but his voice didn't come out, because her lips were preventing it, instead he sucked on her lower lips. She felt the taste of his lips and she couldn't help but kiss him back. The stars exploded in her head and despite knowing she was doing the wrong thing, Tess couldn't help it.
The door to the abandoned warehouse suddenly opened, leaving them both in a state of shock. Fear filled Tess, she wondered what her father would think.
