Chapter 5 Five

Chapter 5 Five

"You have two options, Aria," he had sneered. "Either become my personal plaything, or leave this pack with nothing but the rags on your back."

Swallowing her pride, Aria made her decision. She would never submit to the likes of Kieran, no matter the cost.

With a small bag containing a few essentials, Aria crept out of the rundown shack they had forced her to live in. The night air was crisp, and the full moon cast an eerie glow over the deserted pack grounds.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows, blocking her path. Kieran's smug grin made Aria's blood boil.

"Going somewhere, my dear?" he taunted.

Aria straightened her shoulders, refusing to show fear. "Get out of my way, Kieran. I'm leaving, just like you wanted."

He laughed, a deep, mocking sound that grated on her nerves. "And where exactly do you think you'll go? No pack will take in a disgraced, unmated she-wolf like you."

Gritting her teeth, Aria fought back the tears that threatened to spill. "I'd rather live on the streets than be your plaything."

Kieran's eyes narrowed, and he took a menacing step forward. "You're carrying my pup, Aria. That makes you mine, whether you like it or not."

Aria recoiled, her hand instinctively covering her still-flat stomach. "This child is not yours, Kieran. And I will never let you near it."

With a snarl, Kieran lunged at her, but Aria was quicker. She sidestepped his advance and broke into a run, her heart pounding in her ears.

"You'll regret this, Aria!" Kieran's voice echoed behind her. "No one will protect you out there!"

Aria didn't look back, her only focus on putting as much distance between herself and the pack as possible. She ran until her lungs burned and her legs ached, but still, she pushed forward.

Finally, exhausted and trembling, she collapsed in a small clearing. Tears streamed down her face as she cradled her stomach, whispering a promise to her unborn child.

"I'll keep you safe, little one," she vowed. "No matter what it takes, I won't let anyone harm you."

With that vow etched in her heart, Aria rested briefly before continuing her harrowing journey into the unknown.

For days, Aria wandered aimlessly, her feet blistered and her body weary from the strain of her pregnancy. She scavenged for berries and roots, her wolf instincts guiding her to find sustenance in the wilderness.

On the fifth night, as she huddled beneath a makeshift shelter of branches and leaves, she heard the faint sound of voices in the distance. Hope flickered in her chest, and she followed the voices until she stumbled upon a small village.

A elderly woman tending to her garden spotted Aria and gasped. "Oh, you poor dear! Come, come inside at once."

Too exhausted to question the kindness of a stranger, Aria allowed the woman to lead her into a modest cottage.

"My name is Eliza," the woman said softly, offering Aria a bowl of warm broth. "What has happened to you, child?"

Aria sipped the broth, her empty stomach grateful for the nourishment. "I... I had to leave my pack," she explained hesitantly. "They wanted to harm my unborn child."

Eliza's eyes widened, and she clucked her tongue in disapproval. "Those monsters! Don't you worry, dear, you're safe here. We'll take good care of you and that little one."

Tears of relief spilled down Aria's cheeks as she nodded, too overwhelmed to speak. For the first time in months, she felt a glimmer of hope for the future.

As the weeks passed, Aria regained her strength under Eliza's care. The villagers welcomed her with open arms, providing her with food, shelter, and the support she so desperately needed.

Finally, the day arrived when Aria's labor pains began. Eliza and the village midwife tended to her, and after an arduous ordeal, Aria gave birth to twin babies – a boy and a girl.

Cradling her newborns in her arms, Aria felt a surge of love and determination. She had named them Ava and Liam, and they were her world.

"My beautiful children," she whispered, pressing kisses to their tiny foreheads. "I promise to always protect you, no matter what challenges we face."

Eliza smiled warmly, placing a comforting hand on Aria's shoulder. "You've been through so much, my dear, but you're strong. With those precious babes by your side, you can overcome anything."

Aria nodded, her gaze fierce with resolve. She had escaped the clutches of her tormentors and found a safe haven for her family. Now, she would build a new life – one where her children would never know the pain and rejection she had endured.

As the sun set over the village, Aria held her twins close, their soft breaths lulling her into a sense of peace. She had chosen this path, and though it would be difficult, she knew in her heart it was the right decision.

For Ava and Liam, she would sacrifice anything – even the life she had once known.
