"You called, your majesty." An old figure with gray hair, a stethoscope hanging from his neck, and a white coat covering his light blue jeans and a light blue shirt walked through the door by pushing it slightly.
"Yes." Ash mumbled while rising from the bed and turning to face him. "What's the security of this hospital doing?" He asked harshly.
The doctor seemed caught up in his sudden question and the harsh tone pressing on his voice. He licked his lower lips and asked him,If you could be clear with what you are trying to say, your majesty, I may be able to answer you." His voice was soft, and his words were carefully picked.
"My Luna is missing." Ash's eyes sparkled with anger, dissatisfaction, and fear. "Now once again, what's the security of his hospital doing?"
The doctor was taken aback by that confession. He swept his gaze across Ash's face, as if hoping to see any sighs of him kidding about all that wrinkling up in his lips as a form of smile, but his eyes were serious. "Ah-" the doctor started looking around in panic.
"Who was in charge of looking after her?" Ash asked calmly when he realized that he was getting harsh on the wrong person. It was normal that after the doctor is done examining a patient, a nurse is always assigned to look after them, so in his case, he was about to question the nurse.
The doctor looked around for a while as if thinking, then replied. "It was nurse Judy, whom I had assigned to look after her majesty. She might have taken her out for a walk immediately after she regained consciousness. He explained it to him.
"Is that even allowed?" Ash questioned him. The doctor blinked rapidly, and before he could respond, Ash cut him off. ''I don't think it's nurse Jude or whatever name you had given her that took her out."
"What's that supposed to mean, your majesty?" The doctor was quick to ask. His eyes scanned around, and he could see a mess made on the bed. The white and blue sheets were all over the floor, and the pillows were near the walls, as if a serious pillow fight had just happened.
The doctor's blue eyes, which always had a calming effect on his depressed patients, caught the large window on the left side of the room.
He quickly rushed to it and then slowly turned to face Ash. "Did you by any chance pull this window open when looking for her majesty?" His voice was low and overpowering with fear, and his fingers trembled when he lifted them to reposition his glasses.
"I found the window that way. Now, do you mind peeping?" He dangerously walked toward the doctor as if he were about to fight him, his eyes glaring hard at him. There was a faint growl pressing into his voice whenever he opened his mouth to say something.
The doctor gripped the edge of the window and looked at Ash over his shoulder. Although he shook a bit, he summoned enough courage to do what he was asked to do by his king. He froze at the sight.
A single white bedsheet lay on the ground about ten feet from the room in which he was standing, with blood smeared all over the place.
Onlookers and a bunch of paparazzi were already there, flashing cameras toward him. "Do you think her majesty j-jumped?" The doctor asked
''Or pushed." Ash growled, sighed, and returned to sit on the bed. At that point, he couldn't describe the feeling he was having inside of him. Another part of his heart told him that wasn't Camila's blood, while the other pressed on, saying that it was her blood.
He had tried to touch the necklace he was wearing around his neck, and all he could feel were unstable heartbeats. They were coming, very steady and normal at first, as if Camila wasn't injured at all, and anytime he was about to sigh in relief, her heartbeats would stop.
''Don't tell anyone about this, though. I'll have to carry out my investigation first. Do I make myself clear?" He turned to the still-shocked doctor.
"Uh-yes. But the media... He wanted to ask something, but Ash raised his hand to silence him.
"I'll deal with them. Don't worry." Upon saying that, he walked out of the room with his head clouded with multiple thoughts.
"Oh, here you are." A farmilar voice jarred Ash from his deep thoughts the moment he walked out of the hospital budiling. He followed the voice until he went to stand beside the owner's car. "Where were you? We have been looking for you since forever." The person tapped his back to bring him back to reality.
"I thought you were going to take care of the voices." He reminded the person, who was Alpha Putin and was still sitting in his car,
"Of course we were, but your father decided that we should..." he trailed off as if he wasn't supposed to share their plan with anyone. Ash raised an eyebrow at him, but Alpha Putin shook his head in denial. "How is her majesty?" He asked instead.
Ash's heart skipped a beat. "She's..." He was about to lie and say that she was fine, but Alpha Putin beat him into talking.
"I guess the guy who tried to climb on her window and ended up slipping is among the voices. And that brings me to this: "Ask all the doctors to be super careful next time because imagine what would have happened if that guy never slipped. He would have harmed her majesty if he had succeeded in getting in, you know."
Ash was surprised by Alpha Putin's words. He looked at him, wondering what he was talking about. "What are you saying? Did someone try to attack my Camila?" He was in shock.
Alpha Putin looked at him in confusion and then asked,Where are you coming from? I thought you went to see her majesty?"
"Well, I did, but she is nowhere to be found. I peered through the window only to see blood smeared all over the road. I called the doctor, and he also said he has no idea what has truly happened. I asked him not to tell anyone that Camila is missing, though."
"Camila isn't missing Ash," Alpha Putin patted his back," her majesty is safe. Nurse Jude was with her when they saw someone crawling outside the window and trying to open it. The intruder didn't expect to find someone in there. I think he expected to find Her Majesty still unconscious. Nurse Jude caught him in a fright, and he ended up slipping. But don't worry, your dad is taking care of it."
"Where is my Camila right now when we are speaking?" He asked.
"She's shifted to another ward. Your father will direct you. There he is." He pointed at the entrance, where his dad was talking to the older doctor he had earlier met at the hospital.
Ash didn't take any steps toward his father, though, because the eerie laughters that always echoed before the whisphers began came with so much force and were trying to overpower him.
Alpha Putin, who wondered why Ash had turned pale all of a sudden, kicked his car door open and walked to him.
"Your majesty?" He slapped him lightly on the cheek. "Your majesty?" He called again, but although Ash's eyes were open, he wasn't responding at all.
"Call the doctor, Beta Harris." He called at the two men standing at the entrance, panic covering his face.
