James held up his hand to silence Marks. “She’s young, yes, but I don’t think the two of us making an arbitrary decision without her input is the way to go. She’s growing up and part of that is learning how to deal with situations like this. Not everyone is going to like her, even if we can’t understand why anybody would feel anything but love for her. We can’t protect her from everything and part of being a parent is teaching children how to deal with things like this.”
