Still not quite believing Smith had purchased the property, Amelia parked the car at the curb in front of the residence and just looked. The very same house that she had fallen in love with and then used his hidden money hoard to deposit on during a drunken fit of anger. She retracted the offer and tore up the check when she realised her mistake the next day, but the harm had already been done. It was the beginning of the end for her and Smith as a couple since trust had been betrayed.
