“Yeah,” Ember replied into the phone as she folded her clothes neatly into her suitcase. “I’m sorry. I know I booked the house for the full four weeks, but something came up at work and I have to leave early. I’ll pay for the entire time, though, so don’t worry.”

“I’m not worried about that,” Amelia said. “I’m more worried about why you’re leaving so suddenly. What about Marksman?”
