“You can’t just leave, Marksman,” Sara said. “What about us?”

“Us?”

“The town. Your family. Me. You can’t just leave us. We need you. I need you.”

“Sara.”

“No,” she said, standing. “I’ve kept quiet because I didn’t want to pressure you, but Marks, why can’t you see that everything you want is right here?”

He looked at her, really studying her. “What are you saying, Sara?”

She rolled her eyes. “Seriously? You are not that dense, Marksman. I’m in love with you and I have been for years.”

Marksman stumbled into his house. He didn’t bother turning on any lights as headed for his bedroom.
