Sadie called him, and I felt anger boiling in my blood. I felt stupid for feeling this way, so I got out of bed and went to sleep in the guest bedroom.

Sleep didn't come easily. I thought about what had happened before his mate called. I realized I wanted him, and I would have let him have me. I forced myself to close my eyes and eventually drifted into sleep.

I had a dream that I was in a forest. It was alive and beautiful. The moonlight poured between the trees, and I was barefoot in the grass, wearing a short puffy white dress.
