I returned to Seattle and checked into a hospital, reluctantly starting treatment.
"Bed 9! You pulled the needle out again?!"
I snapped, dropping my hand and looking over at Lily,, the intern nurse, who was glaring at me with her arms crossed.
"I didn't, I was just looking, just looking."
Lily snorted. "Don't try to fool me, I saw you! Every day you're sneaking and pulling the needle out. Do you even want to get better?"
I grinned apologetically. "The drip's too cold, my hand's freezing. How about you get me a hot water bottle?"
Lily eyed me suspiciously, then turned and fetched a warm patch for me to hold....
