Chapter 2 Stranger Danger

Chapter 2 Stranger Danger

Crystal’s POV;

I turn around in fear, and to my relief, I find that he is still asleep. I let out a breath and tried to organize my thoughts. I don’t know where the hell I am. I can’t remember a thing but I know I have to get home. My sister must be so worried. I need to get back home before she starts hunting me down. I wouldn’t want her to find me here.

I look around the room, and the only thing I can find is a coat on the floor and the man’s clothes. I must have gotten the robe to hide my nakedness after turning back to my human form. Nakedness I apparently had no problem revealing to this man.

I sigh as I struggle with my thoughts. I feel a bit hungover. I quickly grab the man's shirt off the floor and throw it on. Thankfully, I can fit into it. However, I can't go out with just a shirt. I shoot a glance his way to be sure that he's still sleeping, and then I rush over to the wardrobe in a corner of the room. I gently pull it open, and then I find pants and shirts neatly folded. They seem to belong to him. Is this his house??

I turn back to look at him before grabbing a pair of shorts and putting them on. They're a bit tight, but I'll manage. I walk back slowly to look at him, just for memory's sake. It would be horrible if I bump into him somewhere else, and can not recognize him.

I freeze as I stand beside the bed, staring at him. He is gorgeous! I gulp as I stare at him, and a part of me begins to hope that I actually got laid by him. How cheap of me! He turns a bit, and I freeze. He might wake up anytime soon. I need to get out of here.

I rush to the door and shoot one last look at the man on the bed. I can't believe I had a one-night stand. I lost my virginity, and worse, I can not remember any bit of it. I shut my eyes and decide to figure that out later as what really matters now is getting back home to my sister.

Third Person's Narrative;

Eleanor had grown pale with worry, and she had tears in her eyes as she sat in her living room with her face buried in her palms. She had cried so hard that her eyes had lost the strength to produce more tears.

She was worried when she saw other youths returning from the ceremony, but her sister, Crystal, hadn't. Her worries only grew worse when she started mind-linking Crystal, but got no response. At first, she wasn't getting a response, and then she lost Crustal’s scent.

Every second that passed was a heavy brick on her chest. She already found out what happened at the palace the night before, because people took the liberty to tell her mockingly when she went to look for Crystal the night before and early in the morning.

She felt guilty and responsible for forcing Crystal to go when the young girl insisted time and again that she didn’t want to.

Eventually, there was a knock on the door, and Eleanor found herself sprinting toward the door in hope, fear, and sadness. As she opened the door, fresh tears that she didn't know she could still produce, began to rush out of her eyes.

"Crystal... honey... "She called weakly, and Crystal stood still with no emotions on her face. She stayed still as her sister hugged her, and Eleanor noticed this. But she did not push it.

"Come inside... "She said softly, and as Crystal walked in, Eleanor noticed the horse her younger sister tied outside their house.

As she turned to look at Crystal in confusion she finally noticed that Crystal was in men’s clothing.

"Crystal... Whose... "Eleanor began but stopped herself as she didn’t know how to structure her question.

"What... Where have you been dear? Where did you go? "She then questioned as she shut the door. Not wanting to be direct about the horse and clothes, and hoping that nothing more horrendous happened to Crystal between the space of the night before and this morning.

"I don't want to talk about it, Eleanor. "Crystal simply replied, and Eleanor fell silent. Hurt and guilt glistened in her tired, green eyes.

"I'm really sorry, Crysty. I didn't... I didn't think or know that... That... "Eleanor began, but Crystal turned to look at her with rage building in her.

The realization that the news had already reached her sister before she got home, just hit her. And then it became clear to her that by now the news would have spread through the entire pack like wildfire.

"I told you I didn't want to go! I told you whoever got me as a mate would reject me. I told you! But do you ever listen to me?

You told me I'd find my happily ever after, there, and look what happened. Does being the joke of the entire pack seem like a happy ever after to you!? I already get bullied because I'm fat. And now, I have to deal with this too!

He made me feel like a pig! He even called me one. He called me a liability in front of the whole pack! In front of my whole class! And now I have to live with that. By now, every family in the pack would know that the soon-to-be Alpha rejected Crystal Valois as his mate because the idea of being tied to a fat girl forever is too disgusting for any young wolf to wish upon himself! "Crystal burst in pain and annoyance, and her sister fell silent.

"If you had just listened to me... None of this would have happened. "She added miserably, and fresh tears began to build in Eleanor’s eyes. The guilt Eleanor felt before got replaced with a stronger, crippling force of regret, and it crushed her lungs and heart.

"I'm sorry... "Is all she could bring herself to whisper, and Crystal felt her heart break as she watched her sister hang her head. She's never wanted to make her sister upset. She never liked it when Eleanor got upset.

The young woman worked so hard to provide for both of them and has been caring for Crystal like a mother since they lost their parents. However, Crystal was part human too. Her emotions got the better of her. And even if she didn't want to hurt her sister, she couldn't stop her tempers from flaring.

"I'm sorry sister... "Crystal apologized as tears began to sting the sides of her eyes, and she swallowed as she tried to hold them back.

"Just... I don't want to talk about it. And I don't want to leave the house this weekend. Or even go to school. I'd figure something out but I... I just don't want to talk about it or have a reason to go out. At least not for now... "She added. And without waiting for Eleanor’s response, she turned around and made her way up the stairs, to her room.

She wasn't asking. She was telling.

She is back where she'd been dreading to come. Her pack. A place that was supposed to be her home, but always felt like a dark cave closing in on her. How was she going to survive this now?

As she walked over to her bed, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror, and she looked down at the stranger's clothes she was in. She quickly took off the clothes and for some reason, her tears began to pour.

She was so broken, that she begged a stranger for sex, and from the look of things, they did it. She had no idea who he was, what his name was, and how her first time felt. She didn’t want to remember the man or whatever happened the night before. She felt hideous because she had to beg a man to sleep with her when she knew men would die to just kiss Alina’s feet.

"Thankfully, I will never see him again... "She whispered to herself as she stared at her body in the mirror.

"It was... Just a one-night stand with a man I pray to never meet again. I would die if I somehow bumped into the man I begged to have sex with me. "She added with a weird, heavy feeling in her chest.

She walked into her bathroom to wash off the man’s scent, but once she got in, she turned on the shower and didn’t get under it. Instead, she stood. Staring at the running water with her mind running back to the stranger

“You’re gorgeous. “She suddenly remembered the man telling her that the night before. That and his name.

Orion.

She remembered his name and those words. But it was all she could remember. And deep in her heart, she wasn’t sure if she truly never wanted to see him again. Or if a part of her heart actually wanted to know who the unknown, handsome man was.

The stranger in whose bed she woke up this morning.
