Diane’s POV
He stares at me with a confused expression as my chest rises and falls with ragged breaths. The papers in my hand, the proof of his latest grand gesture, crinkle under my tightening grip.
“I thought you’ll be happy” He says, his voice tinged with a genuine bewilderment that only fuels my anger.
“Happy?” I let out a sharp, brittle laugh. “Jason, you bought the company I work for based on a lie you fabricated at your family dinner?”
