Jane’s Stance

I need to share my new achievement with my mom after a long time without talking. I feel guilty about it. I dial her number, and she answers on the third ring.

“Hello, Mom. How are you?” I ask. It’s been a while since I last heard her voice.

“I’m fine, my darling daughter. How are you doing over there?”

I know she’s worried about me and misses me a lot. She must be lonely because I’m her best friend. I imagine her with a lot of wrinkles by now, but I know that’s not accurate. She is one of the most beautiful people I have ever met....
