August sat in his office, staring at his phone, wondering if he should keep his promise to Mercy and not make the calls he had planned on making or go ahead and call her home pack and Great Moon as he had planned. He understood that she said she didn’t care about her past anymore, but he had to wonder if she would ever be truly safe here as long as those other packs were out there wondering what had become of her.

Once they found out that she was there, with him, would they come for her? Should he arrange to make some sort of trade for her?...
