Chapter 1 - My Turn

Chapter 1 - My Turn

Aurora seemed to be immersed in solitude amid the bustle of the party, which was still going on until this moment. After escorting Sophia to her room, she sat back in one corner of the venue while sipping a few glasses of champagne served on the table.

At the same time, his mind was far away. Now and then, he seemed relieved to see Tristan finally reunited with the woman he loved. There wasn't the slightest bit of anger in Aurora's heart, let alone regret, like before. There is, now he also feels happy. Aurora did not hesitate to help pray for the best for the household of the man she once loved.

As if lost in her world, Aurora didn't even hear when Raphael came over and scolded her. The woman only realized when her father had sat down and then deliberately patted the woman's shoulder gently.

"Papa, how long have you been here?" surprised Aurora. She even confused himself when she realized his father was already sitting beside her.

"Since Papa called and you haven't responded at all. I don't know what you're really thinking," said the man casually.

Aurora smiled amusedly. Grabbing the champagne glass on the table, the woman slowly took a sip. As if enjoying all the sensations that the drink gives in every drop. After half remaining, he put it back on the table and then focused on his father.

"I'm happy, Pa. I've been thinking about Tristan ever since."

Raphael's brow instantly furrowed. Guess what kind of thoughts made her daughter feel happy?

"What's the matter with Tristan? Are you bothered by Sophia's presence and what happened to them this afternoon?"

Aurora just shook her head. "Of course not, Pa. I'm not bothered in the slightest. Besides, Papa already knows, right? About me and Tristan agreeing not to get married? I'm consistent with that, Pa."

Raphael nodded back. I also reached for the champagne glass and took a sip of it halfway. He thought that he could warm his body with a little drink, especially since the air around him was getting colder and colder to the bone.

"I'm grateful that you finally matured by letting Tristan go without any drama, Aurora. I'm proud of your decision, that is."

"Now that I think about it, it's useless to force my will on Tristan," said Aurora. "Why do we bother getting married when we end up suffering from each other?"

Raphael nodded once again. He was confirming what Aurora said.

"Yes, Papa agrees with what you said. Distinguish between love and obsession. What's the point of having a relationship based on compulsion or bad feelings. A relationship will also not last long if the partner doesn't love each other."

"That's why I just let Tristan go back with Sophia, Pa. It's also clear that Tristan's soulmate is Sophia, not me," repeated Aurora.

From the tone of her voice, it was clear that the woman was sincere in letting go of the man she had loved. Raphael gave a faint smile. He grabbed the princess' wrist. He squeezed softly as he continued to stare deeply into his face.

"Papa's daughter is really an adult, now. One day, Papa is sure you will find your soulmate too, Aurora. There will be a good man who loves, protects with all his heart, and makes you the queen of his life. Papa is very sure of this. that."

Aurora smiled back. He also agreed with the kind prayers that Raphael said for him. Who knows, after this, he found the ideal man like what he often dreamed of. "But by the way," Raphael continued. "Apart from assuming that the relationship between the two of you really can't be united, don't you have any other reason to decide not to marry Tristan?"

Aurora gasped at her father's question. Of course, other, even stronger reasons made him back off not continuing with his plans to marry Tristan. However, he was hesitant to say that.

"What do you mean, Papa?" Aurora asked back after a few minutes of silence, digesting what was asked of her.

"When you think about what you did last time in Tristan's room, it's strange that you suddenly changed your mind."

"Dad, can't we just forget what happened that night? Didn't we both agree not to talk about it? I was wrong, I admitted it, didn't I?"

Raphael immediately nodded. He knew for his actions the other day, and Aurora had apologized to him. He even admitted that he was sorry that he was stupid for thinking of trapping Tristan.

"Or maybe you are currently eyeing or maybe already in a relationship with another man without Papa knowing?"

Aurora took a deep breath. Thinking about another man, his brain immediately connected to Mario's figure. Presently, he cursed himself for being stupid and doing things out of bounds. If only he were not emotional and could thought that night, this mistake would never have happened in his life. Aurora remembers well that after a big fight with her father, she immediately decided to leave the house.

"Madam, it's late, where are you going?" said Samanta, who at that time accidentally passed Aurora.

"Shut your mouth, Samanta. You don't get paid to meddle in my business. You'd better open the door now and let me go."

Samanta was silent. As a worker, he has no right to argue. So the next thing he did was obey, open the door and let Aurora go; who knows where she is going?

Meanwhile, Aurora herself, overcome by emotions at that time, chose to go to one of the regular bars she and Tristan had frequented. Once there, the woman effortlessly ordered a few drinks. She was choosing to vent the annoyance that enveloped her heart until she accidentally met the figure of Mario, who was hanging out with his friends at that time.

"Mrs. Aurora," said Mario. "What are you doing here?"

The half-drunk Aurora turned her head. Clucking, annoyed, then soon answered what Mario asked him.

"Can't you see? Of course I'm drinking!"

"Yes." Mario nodded. "I know you're drinking. But why do you have to get drunk like this."

"Who's drunk?" Aurora asked back. "I'm still conscious. I can even tell the color of the clothes you're wearing right now."

Mario nodded again. For some reason, he suddenly felt worried seeing Aurora's current state.

"But it's getting late, madam. You'd better get home before Mr. Tristan or Mr. Raphael find you."

Instead of obeying, Aurora laughed. Felt that what Mario had said earlier was nothing more than bullshit.

"They won't be looking for me, Mario. And you stop bothering me. Better to walk away than to keep babbling in front of me."

Mario shook his head. This time he did not comply with Aurora's request.

"No, madam. I'm not going to leave you like this."

Hearing Mario's answer, Aurora then sighed lazily. Ignoring the man next to her, the woman chose to continue finishing the drink in her hand. At first, Mario let Aurora finish the one drink in her hand. Mario took it as soon as he was about to drink the second glass without permission. Keeping away, as if strictly forbidding Aurora to continue her activities.

"Are you crazy?" Mario shook his head. "I just did what I had to do. You'd better go home now, Mrs Aurora."

Aurora looked more and more fed up. Ignoring Mario's chatter, he paid the bartender for his finished drink. Seconds later, choose to go. But after only a few steps, Aurora, starting to get very drunk, looked swayed and lost her balance. Inevitably, the woman almost fell if Mario did not quickly catch her body.

"You can't drive your own car if this is the case," Mario said. While holding Aurora's body, he slowly led the beautiful woman away to the car.

"I don't want to go home, Mario," Aurora muttered quietly as she and Tristan's assistant were already in the car.

"Then where are you going at this time of night?" asked Mario, confused.

"It's up to you where you take me. To your hotel, penthouse, or apartment. Either way, as long as you don't take me home."

Aurora remembers Mario taking her away to the man's apartment. Maybe there is a particular reason why he was brought there.

Upon arrival, Mario carefully guided Aurora to enter the apartment unit to the guest room immediately. Aurora also remembers how Mario led her to lie down and even helped them pull up the blanket.

However, I don't know what thoughts entered Aurora. Instead of sleeping, she pulled the man into her arms. He felt, that night, Mario suddenly turned into the figure of Tristan.

"Madam, what are you doing?" reprimanded Mario trying to escape.

"Don't leave me," said Aurora quietly. "Why don't you want to touch me first?"

"Madam, you must be very drunk by now." Those were the only words Mario could say at the moment. When he managed to escape, he quickly kept his distance.

"You really don't like me?" Aurora said again. Straightening her body, the woman sat on the side of the bed. Without hesitation, she took off her dress and threw it everywhere. "Am I not beautiful? Is my body not to your taste?"

Mario gulped. Seeing Aurora, who is now in a state of innocence, she quickly pulled the blanket and then hurriedly covered the woman's body in front of her. At this rate, the defence could collapse. Mario is a good man. But it's also a lie. If it is offered continuously, then it is not tempted. He is an ordinary man as usual.

"Good grief, madam. You'd better get some sleep instead of doing crazy things like this." Aurora shook her head. Grabbing Mario's wrist with a frustrated face, he spoke softly again.

"Why don't you even want to touch me? You've really insulted me."

"Not like that, madam. It's just that I'm not the man you want. You're drunk. If anything happens to the two of us, who are, you'll regret it later." Mario made himself dizzy facing Aurora's behaviour which was getting more difficult to control.

"Please," repeated Aurora.

"You don't want to do it with me?"

While holding Mario's wrist, Aurora stared intently as if pleading for what she asked to be granted. Even before he had time to answer, Aurora was acting up again. They pulled Mario until the man fell on top of him. She quickly grabbed Mario's neck and then kissed the man's lips. Mario, of course, no longer has the power to refuse. And you can already guess what happened to them after that.

If you remember that stupidity, it feels like Aurora wants to die. Why did he get drunk and do crazy things that even harmed himself?

"Aurora," said Raphael when he found the princess, who was silent when asked a question. "You heard what Papa asked, didn't you?"

Awaken from the daydream, Aurora hastily nodded.

"Yes, I heard, Pa. There's no real reason why I suddenly changed my mind to no longer wish to marry Tristan. To be sure, I feel like all this is just a waste of time to continue. And about other men, I don't know. I haven't even thought about that yet."

Raphael smiled. I feel relieved because there will be no more drama in their family. Even Aurora has been able to act mature by sincerely releasing Tristan from her life.

"That's all right then. Papa has to go back to his room to rest. You better hurry yourself."

Aurora nodded, letting Raphael go just like that. Then the next thing he did was to go back to drinking until not long after, a tall, lanky man came along who of course he didn't know. The man smiled, came over, and even sat next to him.

"May I join?" Aurora nodded without saying a word. "I see. You've been drinking here alone. Don't want to dance? Or go around, join other guests?"

As if they knew each other, the man without the slightest awkwardness threw a series of questions at Aurora who looked so indifferent next to him.

"No," said Aurora. "I prefer it here. Finished the drink that was served to me."

The man smiled. Then handed Aurora a glass of red wine. "Then let me accompany you to drink. I heard that the red wine served tonight is the best collection of the Quartararo family."

"Oh, yes?" Aurora turned her head and grabbed the glass that was handed to her.

"Of course. If you don't believe it, you can try it."

Aurora nodded once. Then tried to take a sip of the wine in her hand. As soon as the red liquid ran down her throat, the sweet taste was very pronounced. It made her want to finish the drink in one gulp.

"How? It tastes good, doesn't it?"

"You only brought one?" The man nodded with a smile. "But if you want, you can drink mine. I haven't touched it at all."

The man then handed the glass containing the red wine in his hand. As soon as Aurora was about to reach it, Mario from the other side unexpectedly appeared. Immediately the man grabbed it and put the glass on the table.

"Stop it. . You're too drunk, Aurora," he said in a tone full of emphasis. Then with a sharp look in his eyes, Mario then turned to the other man next to Aurora.

"And you, don't disturb this woman. Don't you know that she is my future wife? Or do you want to deal with me on purpose?"

The man got up with an annoyed face. Without saying a word he immediately left. Then the next thing Mario did was to bring Aurora back to her room.
