I saw him through the car window as he rode off on his motorcycle. Demi, furious, ran up to me, clutching the ticket as if her life depended on it. "Are you crazy?" she whispered.

"Zoe! You actually turned down Orion's ticket. It's unbelievable." Demi, breathless, clung to her backpack's strap, blocking my way.

I had just distanced myself from Orion recently, so suddenly accepting his ticket seemed unreasonable.

I shrugged, looking completely at ease. "Even if it's from Orion, it doesn't change the fact that I'm not interested in swimming. I'm just following my heart."
