“How did this happen?” Orion rushed to my side, inspecting me closely.
“Ugh—” I winced, feeling pain all over.
I limped past him, changed out of my dirty shoes, and sat down in a chair to rest.
“So you had the skeleton from that night work for you as my bodyguard?” I asked quietly.
Orion nodded, not denying it. “You do need protection right now, Zoe.”
I suddenly laughed. “If it weren’t for the bodyguard you sent appearing suddenly, I wouldn’t be in this state. At least you should have warned me.”
