I stared into space. My puffy eyes hot and exhausted from crying, still, I felt like pouring out more tears.
My phone kept ringing, notifications continued to pour in, but they weren’t important.
I sat quietly, cloaked in despair, the only sound was that of the monitor. Weak, barely there.
Barely hanging on.
The doctor had said whatever had been injected in him was destroying his insides and even though they’d flushed it out of his system, it had done enough damage to put him into coma.
A coma no one was certain he would ever wake up from.
This was the fourth day. I was hopeful, yet nothing. ...
