I heard the voices singing as soon as I entered the foyer. With Sadie and Cass flanking my sides, we walked into the living room to see Denise singing with Jeff and Haven who looked cheerful enough.

Haven stopped the moment she saw me and ran to come hug me. “How are you, mommy? I’ve missed you. Where’s daddy?”

Feeling the guilt crawl up within my spine, I hoisted her on my hips. “Daddy is…fine. Mommy misses you too.” I planted a kiss on her nose.
