The two people on the bed noticed me as well.
Sarah screamed and clung to Jayden.
Jayden, however, quickly got up from Sarah and rushed toward me.
Seeing the love bites on his body, I took a couple of steps back.
Jayden stopped in his tracks, frozen.
“Alice, it’s not what you think,” Jayden stammered, “Sara and I were just drunk.”
I glanced up and saw Sarah sitting on the bed.
Noticing my gaze, she wasn't the least bit embarrassed; instead, she casually let her hands fall, proudly displaying the marks Jayden had left on her.
I suddenly felt like a fool.
Sarah had joined Jayden’s team as his new assistant a month ago. Her delicate and alluring appearance had quickly made her known around the office.
Wendy had once asked me why I hired such a beautiful assistant for Jayden, saying it seemed too risky.
I had dismissed her concerns.
Before Sarah joined the company, Jayden had confessed to me that Sarah was his high school junior, left home after her family pressured her into an arranged marriage to help support her brother.
She feared her family would come looking for her, so she sought Jayden's help.
I felt sorry for Sarah and didn’t think much of it, never expecting her to repay me with such a betrayal.
I quickly grabbed my phone and took a few photos before they could react.
“Ah!” Sarah screamed, clinging to Jayden’s waist and hiding behind him.
Jayden instinctively held her hand and glared at me, “Alicia, what are you doing?!”
I slapped him hard. “That’s what I should be asking you. Just because you’re drunk doesn’t mean you can sleep with someone else, especially in my home, on my new bed. What do you think of me?”
Jayden, knowing he was in the wrong, maintained a grim expression and apologized, “I’m sorry, but you shouldn’t be taking pictures. It’s bad for Sara’s reputation.”
I sneered, “Without evidence, what if this woman tries to blackmail you? Just because you’re drunk doesn’t mean she is too. And now you’re worried about her reputation? What exactly is your relationship?”
Jayden fell silent.
Sarah peeked out from behind Jayden, sobbing, “Ms. Petrova, you misunderstand. I didn’t mean to blackmail Mr. Hart.”
I cut her off, “So you were intentionally trying to seduce Jayden?”
“No, I wasn’t,” Sarah cried, her face streaked with tears, looking up at Jayden with a pitiful expression.
My anger flared, and I yanked her by the hair, delivering a couple of hard slaps.
“Jay, help me!” Sarah cried out, pleading for rescue.
“Enough!” Jayden suddenly pushed me. Caught off guard, my back crashed into the vanity. My hand was cut by the sharp edge of the desk, and my phone shattered as it hit the glass, sending fragments scattering across the floor.
Sitting on the ground, I looked up at Jayden in disbelief.
Panic flickered in his eyes, but Sarah clung to him, unwilling to let go.
“You shouldn’t hit people,” Jayden said, his voice trembling as he avoided my gaze.
“Jay, my face hurts,” Sarah said, covering her face and clutching Jayden’s arm.
“It’s okay, don’t worry,” Jayden said, helping Sarah off the bed. As he passed by me, he whispered, “You reek of alcohol. Once you’re sober, we’ll talk about this properly.”
Staring at the chaos around me, I laughed, tears streaming down my cheeks.
