“ Hazel! Hazel!! Hazel!!”

Hazel was abruptly awakened from her slumber by the distant sound of her name, letting out a soft groan, a smile crept across her fave as she reached out her hand to the other side of the bed hoping to find Derrick.

As her eyes slowly opened, she realize there was no one beside her. Sitting up on the bed, she scanned the hut, and once again, she heard her name being called outside.

“Hazel!” Eva voiced reached her ears.

“Eva” she responded happily, hastily grabbing her clothes and quickly dressing herself. She hurried to the door and opened it, revealing a crowd of peak ole gathering outside in front of the hut and scattered throughout the woods.

“Hazel!” Eva called out when she saw her, rushing over and tightly embracing her, breathing heavily.

Hazel smiled. She sure had been worried even when Derrick had informed her.

“Derrick and I have been searching for you throughout the night. Oh God……was so scared” she said with worries, examining her face and checking her body to ensure she was alright.

“You were searching for me alongside with Derrick?”she asked completely bewildered

“Yeah. I forced him even when the peacock refused. He’s still mad at you and kept on with the fact that you cheated on him with another” she said.

“But……” Hazel began to speak, confusion filled her. She had spent the night with Derrick right? But then……

“You just left the party mere seeing him again. I thought you went home. I got home but didn’t find you. Derrick was with me all night searching for you. He just left for his pack this morning when an important message got to him. I’m so glad I found you chipmunk…..” she muttered.

Numerous questions flossed her mind at the moment. She wasn’t sure what was happening.

“We spent the night together, so why was he with the others, searching for me?......or did she spend the night with someone else?

Her eyes twitched. She needed to speak with Derrick first before concluding anything.

It was all still strange to her hearings.

“Let’s go home!” She told Eva who quickly nodded.

Hazel stared at the result in her hands. She was a month gone. She just came out of the pack hospital where she received the news.

She didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. After the night she shared with Derrick which was still mysterious to her, she haven’t set her eyes on him.

For good one month, she didn’t hear any words from him.

She felt uneasy as soon as she entered the white wolf pack house.

The pack that she once known as home. The pack that she ran away from. The way her pack mates were smirking at her, laughing behind their hands... She knew something was up.

She never wanted to come here again but not until this pregnancy came up. She can’t possibly raised a child without informing the father.

She don’t care if Derrick accept or not but he deserves to know.

She wasn’t looking and had to bump into someone.

“Derrick..!” She called and he release a growl to her hearing.

“Why are you here. Why are you back hazel!” He asked between gritted teeths. A visible hatred in his tone.

Hazel stared at him bewildered. Wasn’t this the man who apologized and confessed his love for her at the moonlit party?

How come he suddenly changed?

“Speak when I’m talking to you!” His voice came hard on her.

“I’m pregnant!” She blurted out and plastered her gaze on the floor expecting the worst.

Soon, she heard a laughter.

“You’re pregnant. How does that matters to me.” He said and Hazel raised her head that moment to stare at him.

“I’m carrying your child Derrick. Thiss baby is yours!” She muttered.

“Mine?” Derrick clenched his brows and twitched his eyes at me.

He suddenly grabbed her arm and stare angrily at her.

“How can you be carrying my child when I’ve never slept with you?” He asked.

Hazel shook her head as tears streamed out of her eyes.

“That’s not true. We spent the night together at the moonlit party. Can’t you remember?” She muttered.

“You must be sick hazel. You’re a cheat that don’t even know who impregnated her. You dare cheats on me and dare show up to my face to put your bastard child on me?” He asked. Hazel felt her heart aching and without thinking she slapped him across his face.

“You punk! How dare you call my child a bastard!” She yelled. Soon people began murmuring but her sole attention was on him.

“This child you’re carrying is not mind!” Derrick said. Hazel could feel the sincerity but she was sure she had spent the night with Derrick.

It was him.

“This should be the last time you lay your freaky hands on me, I won’t spare you next time. I already reject you as my Luna and mate, so get your freaking shitty trash self out of here” he said and turned to leave but Hazel next words stopped him.

“I forgot to tell you this long ago. “ she said.

“I, Hazel Gregory also rejects you, Alpha Derrick Woodson as my mate!. I pray the moon goddess curse you for rejecting this child” she muttered and without waiting for his reply, she ran out in tears.

Hazel was about leaving the pack when a girl blocked her way. She immediately recalled her as Mabelle.

"Poor little being, you have a lot of guts to show up here right now. Do you have any idea how happy the pack is? Having you here will just ruin it and I’m sure it did already!” She spoke.

She made to ignored her and leave but Mabelle blocked her way again.

"You made a biggest mistake coming here. Even Derrick, he doesn't want you here." She sneered before smiling at her widely.

“You think he will accepts you back just because you’re pregnant?” She asked. The malicious look in her narrowed eyes showed she was pleased by her tears.

“Let me go!” Hazel stumbled forward, trying to remain calm.

The steady stream of tears blurred her vision, and her chest hurt more.

Hazel shuddered with revulsion as Mabelle placed her hand on her back.

Soon, the pack members gathered around her.

Their mockery gaze were on her.

“She’s a disgusting cheat!”

“Can’t believe she has the nerves to show her disgusting face after what she did to our Alpha!”

“She’s a slut. “

“You can’t run away now bitch!” Mabelle cursed and laughed at her.

Hazel tried to pushed through the crowd, desperate to get away from everyone.

A hard shove came from behind her as she raced down the last few steps. Her vision was blurred by the tears, and sheI was clutching her chest as she tried to catch her breath. She didn't want the rest of the pack to enjoy my pain any more than they already did.

They loved it when she cried and when she begged them to stop hitting or abusing her. It spurred them on to hear her calling for help.

The force of the push sent her flying into the hardwood floor with a shout of pain as her wrist twisted beneath her, her dark brown hair falling over her shoulder.

"Hazel, always being in places that she doesn't belong." Mabelle hissed as she stepped over her body.

Hazel knew she needed to get away, but a large foot came down on her back as she tried to stand, sending her chin to the floor.

She turned her head, panting for air as they pressed more of their weight down on her spine.

"I've been really sick of you bothering my man. If you haven’t been his mate, he would have marry me. I was at the very end of getting engaged to him just for him to discover you both are mate. He fucking left me for you but what did he get in return, a cheat. A slut as a mate. You couldn’t just hide it Hazel. You have the nerves to cheat with a wolf in his pack. You’re disgusting. You don’t belong to this pack anymore. We don't want cheats like you. It's time for you to get lost, runt and never come back again” Mabelle yelled and kicked her one more time.

"That is quite enough!" The Alpha's voice boomed through the house, and took in a deep breath as the weight on her back was lifted.

“Hazel….” she heard Eva’s voice.

“Why did you let them do this to you. Why did you even have to come back here without informing me.

Eva was already crying by now. She stared at Hazel face which was now covered in blood.

"Make your way out, Hazel." Derrick ordered as he looked down his nose at her. She didn't need her wolf to feel the alpha command he used, but she did feel the blood dripping from her lip as she scrambled to get to her feet.

Eva quickly let her up.

“Let’s leave Hazel. We’re not welcome here. “

Eva said.

Hazel didn’t say a word, she sniffled as quietly as she could. She wanted to act strong but unable to stop the tears from the pain and betrayal she had experienced tonight.

My wrist was cradled to her chest, and my breathing was coming out in shallow and shaking gasps.

"Don't worry, they’re all gonna pay. Derrick will regret this I swear,," She said quietly but with pains in her voice.

At that moment, all Hazel wanted to get away from them. From the pack and from everyone involved in her past life. She wants to live all alone. Yeah! Thats exactly how she wanted to live.

Away from the agony. Away from the suffering.

The image of Derrick had been burned into her mind and yet, she was rejected again, awakening the pains that were once buried but this time, in a double fold.

She clenched to her heart. It was as though she could feel her heart physically breaking inside her chest, and she had no way to reach in to hold it together.

She stumbled as she held her arm tightly to her chest. The pain in both was excruciating.

She had loved him with everything she had. He had been the only one she had ever loved. Just him. That’s why it was easy to forgive him and have him back into her life but not anymore. She killed that feeling. She was going to mate him pay, for ever rejecting her and this child.

He had indirectly spat in her face and it wasn’t something Hazel could tolerate.

He was gonna pay. She will make him pay. Hazel swore as she walked away with Eva.
