A YEAR LATER…….
Derrick stared out of the window deep in his thoughts. The sim was so bright in the sky but yet, why did his life seem so gloomy?
He closed his eyes slowly and was about to fall asleep when he heard his office door opened. He sighed wnd turned to the door to see Jude, his Beta and his Gemma Zane.
He turned to them with a stoic expression on his face.
“I thought I told everyone I do not wish to be disturb today?” Derrick asked in a calm low voice but even that was enough to make them take a step back.
His Beta Jude sighed.
“You can’t sit here and sulk all day. You have important meeting with the board of directors and with the Alpha of consent moon pack. The reason of the meeting is to invite you to their moonlit party. “ he said.
“I wasn’t sulking “ Derrick corrected and rolled his eyes.
“Was that the only thing you got from all what I said?. The board of directors have been waiting for over an hour and they’re getting impatient. Your secretary was too scared to come inform you so we came ourselves. “ Zane nodded in agreement.
“Cancel everything, I want to go home” Derrick muttered then stood up from his chair and pick up his suit. He just want to go home and wallow in his thoughts.
“Derrick….”
“Do not start with me , Jude. I’m not in the mood today. Cancel everything I want to go home”
Jude sighed and was about to say something when a woman suddenly walked into the office dressed in the most flashy red gown with a very high slit and matching red lips.
Her brunette straight hair flowed down her waist.
There was no doubts that she was beautiful and she looked so expensive.
“”Derrick, are you about to leave,,,,”
Before Derrick could say anything, Jude and Zane scoffed then walked out of the office.
“Leave Mabelle, I’m not in the mood today. You should learn to knock before bumping into ones privacy “ he said. Mabelle frowned then walked over and grabbed his biceps as she stared up at him seductively.
“I missed you so much and this is how you greet me?”
“It’s been a year already. You never looked at me Derrick. Why did you bring me to your pack if you never intended to marry me?” She asked.
“Not now Mabel. You knew I changed my mind and that was because I found my mate!” He said.
“And now you have rejected her. It’s been a year since she left. Why can’t we get married. Why can’t you look at me again?”
“Not now. Leave and never come to my office unannounced”
He said.
“ No I will. Why can’t you just forget Hazel!”
Derrick clenched his fist at the mention of Hazel.
“I thought I made it clear that no one was to say her name in front of me?” Derrick muttered threatening without turning to spare her a glance which just made her angrier.
“Why not when it’s clear to everyone that you still love her. She betrayed you, remember? She fucking slept with someone else. She’s nothing but a cheat and a slut but you’re here loving someone that probably moved on with her……..”
Before she could complete her sentence, Derrick rushed towards her, grabbed her by the neck and slammed her against the wall.
Mabel Kã whimpered as she heard a few of her bones crack but she wasn’t backing down.
“I’ve always been the one here for you. The one by your side for the past one year. Yet, you refused to love me again. You refuse to see me as before. What does hazel have that I don’t”
Derrick growled loudly in her face as he hated his fangs at her.
“Shut the fuck up! What we shared in the past was a mistake. A mistake that which I’m regretting. If only I had waited for my mate, I wouldn’t had gotten involved with you!” He snarled as his green eyes stared down at her before he threw her to the ground.
Mabelle groaned in pains.
“You’re such an ingrate Derrick. The same mate you left me for cheated on you. I shouldn’t have loved you. I left my family and pack just to be with you but what did I get in return? You found your mate and ditche me. You fucking left me for your mate without remorse. You’re such a betrayal. Even when your mate turned out to be a cheat, I was fucking there for you but you never for once looked at me again!” Mabelle yelled in tears. She held onto her neck as she coughed loudly.
She could already feel her neck bruising up.
Tears streamed from her eyes as she watched him walked away nonchalantly like her whole existence didn’t matters to him. After everything she did, this was what she got in return?
She had already gotten this far. She was going to do everything to make him love her again.
As Derrick walked out of hos office, even with the stoic expression on his fave, all eyes were on him as he walked majestically out.
They were captivated by his intimidating aura and gorgeous appearance. His jet black hair was combed back with a few strands falling over his forehead which made him look like a Greek god right out of the picture.
His mind suddenly wandered off to a year ago. He remembered the picture that had been given to him of Hazel in bed with another male wolf in his pack and Kissing another. He knew her feature ms and that had been her, not a photoshop.
He had wanted to doubt that but it was fucking true. She’s a cheat with an innocent look. Who would have thought Hazel could cheat on him.
“Alpha….” The loud voice of Jude erupted his thoughts. He raised his face to see Zane and Jude running towards him. A scared expression was written over their faces.
Although Derrick stood over them, Jude’s built and blond hair made himself eye-catching while Zane’s green eyes and charismatic aura made him stand out.
“He’s back. He’s really back!” Jude said breathlessly.
Derrick furrowed his brows not understanding what Jude just uttered.
“Alexander Is back” he said and Derrick gasped.
“What?”he shouted in horror.

“Hazel! Hazel! Hazel! Hazel! Are you alive?" Eva’s urgent voice pierced through the glass of their window, abruptly interrupting the peaceful slumber she was enjoying, instantly awakening her.
“Ugh... Go away," she groaned, burying her head beneath the pillow in an attempt to drown out her voice, hoping for a moment of respite.
"Haz, come on! I have great news!" She persisted, now resorting to tapping on the window, causing her to mutter curses under herbbreath.
“You wake me up like this every single day! What did I do to deserve this?" Hazel grumbled, her frustration palpable. In response, She heard her playful giggle.
"I'll be waiting at the door, alright? Don't take too long, or I'll be back, knocking on the window," she teased, her footsteps gradually fading away from the window.
“Ugh," she sighed deeply, tossing the pillow aside and staring at the ceiling for a few moments before finally getting out of bed to open the door for Eva.
“Haz…..” She cut off Eva’s imprints cream of her name as she swung open the door. The glaring brightness from outside assaulted her eyes, prompting her to instinctively squint in response.
“Finally” Eva muttered as she stepped into the house, her time filled with a hint of relief.
“You need to mature, Eva. You can’t keep yelling my name every morning just to wake me up, “ Hazel grumbled, rubbing her tired eyes with her fingers and shuffling her way into the kitchen to get some water.
Eva had left for “the white wolf pack “ yesterday. Though they now reside in dark consent moon pack, Eva still visit their previous park continuously.
“Why not? If I don’t scream your name, you’ll never wake up on time!”she playfully retorted, trailing after her into the kitchen.
Pouring herself a glass of water, she turned to fave Eva while taking a sip. A mischievous smile adorned her face as she remarked.
“You’re looking absolutely stunning this morning! It’s a sign of something good about to happen” She said but Hazel only rolled her eyes.
She sets the glass down in the sink.
“A sign? What kind of sign?” She inquired.
“A sign that you’re gonna be happy again. “
She exclaimed, and Hazel scoffed, shaking her head.
“I doubt that. It’s already a year, and I’m still alone wolf who got rejected by her mate” she replied, feigning indifference despite the pain that lurked beneath the surface.
“Come on Hazel, everyone deserves to be happy , and deep down, you know that” she said.
“Well, maybe am exception. Perhaps my fate!” She uttered as they both exited the kitchen returning to the living room.
“Well let’s not ruin the mood. I have a surprise for you!” She said.
“What?” Hazel asked rather and soon the door burst opened revealing Gina.
“Tada!”
“Oh my world!”
"And the drama queen come” she could hear Eva remark. She spread her arm widely opened as she welcome Gina..
"I missed you" she said.
"Sure you did"Hazel embraced her.
“I miss you more Hazel, “ Eva said and soon she tested up.
"Come to the room after you are done with your teary reunion"
Eva joked and left the kitchen.
*****
“There’s a moonlit party tonight!” Eva said.
They were now in the room. Gina had gone back after some few gisting and catching up.
“Yeah. I know. I heard the pack members talking about it. I doubt if I will be attending “ Hazel said.
“Of course, you’re “ Eva replied.
“Who are you to make decisions for me?” Hazel frowned.
“I’m your mother and you’re attending it cuz I won’t allow you stay in your room, sulking all day and night” Eva said.
Her excitement about the moonlit party was contagious and she didn’t want to dampen her spirits.
“Please, Hazel. You don’t expect your best friend to go alone?” She said with a pout.
“Please,” she pleaded further, holding Hazel hands and giving them a tight squeeze.
“Fine ! I’ll go” Hazel relented, and she leaped with joy.
“Yes!” She exclaimed, springing up from the bed and dashing towards their wardrobe, bouncing and clapping in excitement. Hazel chuckled softly. This friend of hers will never fail to amaze her but would have become of her if Eva was never there?
She’s the only one that stood with her within this one year. Eva has always been there for her.
Reciprocating the love should be her major priority.
