Chapter 2

Chapter 2

"I don't get you! My grandma is dead and my grandpa is Mr Howard George," I simply stated.

"We understand your doubts, it's obvious your mother wants nothing to do with her blood family," blood family?

"What do you mean by that?" Ali asked before me. "Can't you see the hair colour, my features? We are your mom's parents, Mr Howard just adopted her,"

"We didn't know!" I stated and she smiled weakly. "Yes I know. It's not your fault. We are just happy to see my grandkids"

"I see..." I trailed off as I glanced at Clara who was looking at me in a perturbed way.

"We better start going then," we mentioned to Clara and she hurried to us. It felt a bit odd staying at the same place with my suppose grandparents and I felt Ali's uneasiness too.

We stepped out and walked to the hallway in silence. I didn't have anything to say, I was still dumbstruck about what has been revealed. I wasn't one to believe easy but since the Queen herself stood there and didn't object to it, then it is true. But why? Why would mom lie to us, to me. We are so close, we tell each other everything.

"Hey, did you bring your notebook too?" Clara's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Huh?"

"I asked if you brought your notebook!" She stated almost pissed. "Yeah, Yeah! I did" I picked my  bag.

"Here it is!" I exclaimed while passing her the note. It was then that I noticed that we were at the doorstep of her room.

Her concerned features swept over me and I smiled.

"Don't be worried. I'm fine," I shrugged and she huffed. "No you aren't. But I have something to cheer you up," she giggled. "No, no, noo, no" I waved my arms in denial.

"Come on, it will be fun.." She pleaded with a pout and those puppy doll eyes. "It better not be one of those your girly sleepovers," Ali stated, with a crossed expression and I smiled as I watched Clara tremble. Do you know why I'm smiling? Of course you don't.

Let's just say that Clara, my best friend, has a big crush on Alister, my sweet triplet. Oh I don't spend my time on crushes, they are just a waste of time, so I don't encourage it at all. But you gotta grab your opportunity quickly, and that's what I'm going to do.

"I think we should start quickly. Mom wants us back before nine," I mentioned as I watched her play with her leg and hair.

"Sure. Whatever!" She tried to sound like those normal teenage dudes. I mentally laughed. "Okay? Care to lead us in princess, or should I hold the door for you?" Ali bowed. The only problem is that I also think he likes her too, since he always act like a gentleman towards her alone. Kinda chivalry.

"Okay stop all this, get in" I pushed them into her room. I started quickly with the same excuse of going home early, but Ali was a bit reluctant to go. In an hour or so, we were done with our powerful project. We decided to leave it at her house to prevent damage before we left.

I couldn't still get what happened out of my head. I just can't believe mom lied to us. "Get some sleep Tony," I smiled as we waved at our driver. We watched him park in the premises before we walked into the house.

"Darling! I couldn't sleep without seeing you," mom pouted sheepishly as she rushed to hug us. If it was before, I could have been happy that I was treated this way but now, I am....

"Mother, we met some people today who claimed to be our grand parents." I watched her expression and knew that I had hit a soft spot.

"When were you going to stop lying." I snarled. "No honey, its not like that, I..."

"You know what mom, I don't want to hear it. You trained us to be against lying but look at you now. I wonder how many other things that you have done,"

"How many doctrines you have gone against. Mom we are your children, what do you expect us to do. Huh?"

"Let me explain. Give me room for explanation kids," mom pleaded but Ali stepped in.

"I'm going to my room Aly, have fun with her lies," Ali spoke which left mom dumbstruck. He walked slowly towards the stairs and disappeared in the hallway. I knew that he was truly offended.

"Alyssa, when I e-"

"Please mom, I can't stay here, I will definitely say something rude to you and that's against my doctrine. I obey it unlike you," I cut in and she sighed.

"Anger is very destructive in-"

"I'm not angry," I shook my head vigorously; "I'm disappointed," I rushed up to my room leaving a shattered mom alone in the living room.

Maybe I was a bit rude but didn't she deceive it? Oh no, I'm losing my cool too but I have my reasons, but.. so those she. She tried to tell me and I shut her down. Great! Just Great.
