When he was done, he came and stood in front of me, a sheepish grin on his face. “Noah.” He took a deep breath and giggled. “Will you be my girlfriend?”

His blue eyes were full of hope but I felt my heart sink. How could I say yes when I had just slept with his brother?

“Noah, I’m sorry.” He began pacing back and forth in the room. “I’m so stupid, you’re mourning Uncle Zach and I’m here asking you to be my girlfriend.”
