Katie and I were still seated on the couch when the front door swung open. We both turned to see Aiden with a puzzled look on his face.

“I called him when you weren’t answering the phone,” Katie said, turning to me.

“Oh,” I replied and stood up from the couch. “Aiden.” I walked over to him and pulled him in a tight hug.

“How are you?” He asked, his eyes raked over me from my feet to my head. “Are you good? Katie called me earlier.” He said pointing to Katie, as though he was surprised to see her.
