It was the 17th century in old London when both men and women wore elaborate and often very large dresses and garments. For women, there were farthingales, hoopskirts, and bum rolls that made the skirts billow out to extreme widths. For men, there were doublets, codpieces, and padded shoulders that created an exaggerated silhouette.
