I stood in the middle of the wrecked living room, my hands trembling as I tried to focus. The air was thick with the faint buzz of magic, but it wasn’t comforting,it was chaotic, raw. Madriod was pacing behind me, his calm voice directing Mia as she muttered incantations under her breath. The tension was suffocating.
