Chapter 5 episode 5

Chapter 5 episode 5

I was left down in the cellar for the rest of the day, my legs beginning to cramp from being forced into the same position for almost twenty-four hours. Becoming sick of looking around at the same four walls, my boredom creeping up inside me. Secretly wished that Nella would come back down to give me some company, or at least explain my fate.

Imagining them all sitting around their dining room table deciding what they would do to me, laughing at the thought of the Alpha being annoyed by my presence. I knew I shouldn't enjoy the fact I could get under his skin so easily but I couldn't help myself, he wanted to kill me so why shouldn't I disrespect him?

All they needed to do was let me go, not force me to sit here all day. I wasn't a threat to them but convincing them otherwise seemed difficult, especially with my sour attitude. Nella was right, I probably wasn't doing myself any favors. But I physically couldn't help it, lashing out and snapping back felt like a default and I couldn't stop becoming defensive.

Even if I wanted to switch it off, I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried. The silver was beginning to get to me, cutting into my skin further than before, and wincing as my flesh healed over the metal, then is a fresh wound a second later.

Tiny footsteps draw me back to the room as I watch a young boy edge his way into the basement, his curious eyes looking around between the cells. A broomstick in one hand as he tip-toed into the room like he didn't want to disturb anyone.

My neck tilts and lets out the most satisfying crack, causing the boy to jolt as he presses the broom to the floor and begins to sweep.

"Kid," I grumble out, catching his attention. "Let me out."

His pale blue eyes find mine as he takes a step closer to the bars, latching onto one as he looks me up and down for a moment. He was dressed in a denim dungaree set with a white t-shirt underneath, mousey brown hair, and pale skin.

"I might be an omega but I'm not stupid," he replies, his tone completely catching me off guard.

My eyes blink back at him as he sighs and continues to brush the floor, the action seeming completely bizarre to me but I guess that's how they treat their omega's here.

"What's your name?" I call out again, longing for some form of human interaction before I drive myself insane with my own thoughts.

The boy stops and swishes his lips side to side like he is debating whether or not he should be talking to be. But he drops the broom to the floor again and swallows. "Ripley but everyone calls me Pluto." He tells me, his eyes instantly looking to the floor.

"Why?"

"Because I'm the bottom of the pack."

My eyes were trained on him watching as he began sweeping again, he couldn't be any older than sixteen, and yet here he was, sweeping the floor for no reason.

"You have been given the dirty work to check up on me?" I flex an eyebrow towards him.

"Yeah," he licks his lip before swallowing harshly. "They said you're dangerous, are you?"

"Do I look dangerous?" I respond instantly.

His blue eyes dart around the room for a moment as he gives me an unsure look. "Yes." He nods once.

"What are they saying about me?" I question curiously. Dying to hear what exactly they had in plan for me.

"Urm..." he trails off as he narrows his eyes in front of him, a hand raising to itch the side of his head. "They keep mentioning an execution but Nella is trying to get everyone on her side. Saying that it's wrong. It's kind of carnage upstairs."

I couldn't help but smile at the ruckus I had caused, the Alpha couldn't even think for himself which made this all the better.

"So is Nella close to the Alpha?" I ask.

"Nella is Mace's mate," he tells me. "Mace is the beta."

"Right," I nod, managing to piece this all together in my head. "That makes sense. So what's up with Jason?"

Ripley's eyebrow furrowed towards me at the question. "What do you mean?"

"He's just so angry and aggressive," I shake my head. "Like he has something stuck up his ass, there is no way an Alpha should have that much frustration."

He shrugs towards me. "Think it's because he hasn't found his mate yet." He exhales. "He's lonely I guess, a lot of the houses are mated up and have children. It's constantly kisses and cuddles and lovey-dovey. I don't blame him, it's hard to watch when you don't have someone for yourself I guess."

"That's a shame," I say shortly.

Like boohoo, cry me a fucking river. I'm most likely going to die without finding my mate, I could have met them and I would have had no fucking clue. Yet one day I might die with this curse and never find out.

"You don't seem very sincere," he tells me as he moves away from the bars, his hands gripping the broom again.

"Because I don't give a single shit," I say with a sarcastic smile.

Ripley recoils from my words and begins sweeping once more, not uttering another word to me. I keep a close eye on him as he moves back and forth in front of me, the sound of the bristles brushing against the stone floor.

"You want to put in a good word for me to convince them to let me go?" I say any attempt to speed this up would be fantastic. "I've got things to do."

"They wouldn't listen to me," he shakes his head but continues to sweep.

My throat let out a deep groan, and I looked up at the ceiling for some kind of hope but it wasn't coming from anywhere.

"Can you just get the Alpha?" I say suddenly, the harshness of my voice causing Ripley to jump.

"I-I can't," he stutters towards me.

"I said get the fucking Alpha!" I yell at the top of my lungs, the insides of my throat beginning to scratch from the dryness.

Ripley drops the broom letting it crash down onto the floor, the sound echoing off the cold walls. He takes a few steps backward and darts up towards the stairs, not realizing I had begun to pant angrily.

Becoming restless was making my emotions boil over and right now I didn't want to be challenged or denied, I wanted to get the fuck out of there before all hell broke loose.

A few minutes later, angry charging footsteps shoot down the stairs, my eyes clinging onto Jason as the light from the window behind me catches his facial expression. He removed the keys from his pocket and slammed them into the lock, ripping the door open like he had done before.

My mouth pants as I watch him with hooded eyes, his large body stalking over to me with purpose. His fingers roughly grab the back of my hair and tighten, causing me to whimper slightly from the sudden action. Blood rushed to my scalp to try and recover the pinching pain.

His dark eyes were dilated like he wasn't fucking around, noticing the stubble that was now growing on his cheeks and chin. Flicking my eyes from his eyes to his nose, to his lips. I watched as he pulled them into a straight line, clearly irritated by my presence.

"You don't ever speak my name, you don't ever call for me. Alright?!" He growls out in my face, his body beginning to shake from the frustration. "You are scum."

My eyes roll towards him. "Quite honestly, I don't give a shit," I grumble as he tightens his fist in my hair.

"People don't just trespass on my land and get away with it," he shouts, throwing my hair. Allowing my chair to rock and smash into the brick wall behind me, my head hitting it with a thud, my mind swirling for a millisecond.

"I don't even want to be here," I mumble as I try to stabilize my eyesight. "You've got this all wrong."

"Why don't I believe you?" He questions as his body turns from blurry to normal.

"I don't know, why don't you?" I ask smartly, causing him to slam his hand down onto the wall.

"Honestly, I am up to here with you." He spits in my direction as he raises his hand to his head, starting to pace back and forth in front of me.

I stay silent for a moment, watching as he has a tantrum inside his head.

"Did Nella tell you what I said?"

Jason's dark eyes shoot to mine as he clasps his chin with his hand. "She explained." He clarifies.

"Then you'll know that I am cursed and I am here to see my fucking mother. Not your lousy half-ass pack, alright? So just let me fucking go, and I'll be out of your hair in three seconds."

His fists tightened beside him at my words, realizing they weren't the best choice but I couldn't help it. Insults were like poison rolling off my tongue and I loved it, spurring words that would hurt others. Deep inside me, my body loved it no matter how it hurt.

And that's why I needed to get rid of this stupid curse before it really did end up with me killed by some egotistical Alpha.

I guess I'm still not out of the woods with this one.

"How do I know that you won't come back?" He throws his arms across his chest. "And try and terrorize my pack?"

My mouth let out a quiet laugh, Jason wasn't impressed as he flexed one of his eyebrows at me like he was some kind of joke. "I wouldn't even come back here if you guys were the last werewolves on Earth. I'm not interested in any of you, what can I fucking do to prove it to you?"

Jason's eyes keep trained on me, swiping his thumb across his lip as he ponders for a second. Desperate to know what he was thinking or if he was about to slaughter me and feed my limbs to the rogues.

"You can't," he replies bluntly. "Anything you do, you could be lying. I'd never trust some low-life wolf."

"Okay, cool. Great chat." I say sarcastically with the biggest smile.

Jason's eye twitches at my response. Childish, I know but if he wasn't going to listen to me then I was completely and utterly fucked.

Nella was my only escape out of here and yet I don't even know if she could help me, considering she's the beta's mate, she could have a small impact on my destiny. But at the same time, Jason hated my fucking guts and I don't blame him. I'm a bitch, we all know it.

"We're having the final talk tonight," Jason snaps at me. "Tomorrow we will decide what we do with you."

"Could I at least get some food, I am fucking starving?" I say with a heavy breath.

"No," he snaps in my direction. "You don't deserve basic needs."

My eyes shoot wide at his comment. "Wow," I say back. "That's harsh."

Jason looks down at my bare, dirty feet against the cold and wet ground. My body was completely covered in blood and mud, my skin sliced from the silver. Dark purple veins popped out of every inch of my pale and broken skin.

"Y-You want to see a twenty-two-year-old girl sitting here like this?" I spit back at him, my anger bubbling inside me. "Does this make you feel good about yourself?"

His jaw tightens at my words. "Is this what you get off on?" I laugh sourly. "A poor brittle girl tied up in the basement, vulnerable and dirty. Is this what you go to bed jacking off about?!"

Jason storms straight up to me and grabs me by the chair, holding me up against the wall, all four legs of the chair off the ground. "Don't you ever fucking say that again," he snarls towards me, his spit touching my cheek as he talks.

His hands shake violently as he holds me in the air, his eyes full of vengeance and frustration. "You're fucking sick in the head." His voice echoes loudly off the walls, dropping the chair to the floor.

"Maybe," I pant out as my head keeps low. "You should be saying that about yourself considering how you've kept me these last two fucking days. Without water, food, or a fucking chance to go to the toilet. You're the one who is sick in the head."

Jason's body shakes, and he removes himself from the cell before he does something he regrets. I could see it in his eyes, the desire to kill me but he refrains. Slamming the cell door shut and locking it, his movements rigid from his anger.

He doesn't even give me another look before he takes himself back upstairs, a deep growl rumbling from his chest as he shuts the basement door.

My eyes flick from side to side, unsure what the fuck would happen now.

An execution definitely was on the agenda.

Well fucking done Megan.
