After the funeral, life at home settled down. It did until I came home and heard yelling. I went to the gate and saw Tim Wilson hanging upside down as Deacon and Nate took turns whacking him with a stick. Elias leaned against the fence and watched.
“Knock it off!” Tim Wilson swung from a branch while hanging upside down.
“Okay, you don’t have to tell me twice.” Nate shrugged and whacked Tim in the head with a branch.
I shook my head, entered the backyard, grabbed the sticks, and smacked the boys with them.
