I sat up, awoken from my sleep to see Matthew asleep next to me. I looked at the window, watching the lightning as rain hit the windowpane. I slid out of bed and walked towards the window. Rain poured outside as I watched the outside become wet.

I jumped with another cracking sound. Then arms slid around my waist as I relaxed.

“Why are you awake?” Matthew asked me.

“The storm woke me up.”

“Let’s go back to bed.” Matthew removed his arms, taking my hand and leading me back to bed.
