After Lyric and Michael left, Matthew and I talked.

“I forgot about when you visited the Grays,” I said.

“I don’t think we give the past much thought when we’re kids. You grow up with your cousins, not paying attention to details.”

“What do you think would have happened if we grew up together?”

“Well, I think I would have spent time with you.”

“Would that include fighting Mason for my attention?”

“Pft, Mason wouldn’t have stood a chance. My cousin has a habit of following Pat, Pax, and Kaxon. Those boys have issues.”

“Can I ask you a question?”
