Chapter 1 One

Chapter 1 One

Diane takes a deep breath before stepping into the dimly lit chambers of Beta Cassandra. The air is thick with the scent of wolfsbane, causing Diane's nose to twitch in response. As she moves forward, her footsteps echo off the stone floor, each step becoming heavier as she nears Cassandra.

Cassandra stands tall, looming over Diane with a look of disdain etched onto her face. Her piercing green eyes glint in the darkness, taking in every inch of the young princess before her.

"Hello, Beta Cassandra," I say, keeping my voice even despite the fear that grips my heart. "What brings you here today?"

Cassandra scoffs, her lips curling into a sneer. "Do not play coy with me, Diane. You know exactly why you are here."

I clench my fists, refusing to let Cassandra see any sign of weakness. "I have done nothing wrong. My loyalty lies with the pack and our people."

"Your words mean nothing," Cassandra hisses, taking a step closer. "You have betrayed us all with your foolishness. You must be punished."

As I enter Cassandra's chambers, my eyes immediately fall on the vial of wolfsbane in her hand. Its poisonous contents glint ominously in the dim light, a silent threat of the pain to come. But I refuse to show any fear. Instead, I stand tall before Cassandra, defiance flickering in my eyes.

"Is this what you plan to use to punish me?" I ask, my voice steady despite the pounding of my heart in my chest.

Cassandra's lips curl into a cruel smile as she brandishes the vial before me. "Oh, it will do much more than just punish you," she says, her tone dripping with malice.

I watch as she takes a step towards me, her movements predatory and calculated. I can feel the weight of her power bearing down on me, suffocating me with its intensity.

But I refuse to back down. I am a hybrid of both wolf and dragon, possessing strength and resilience beyond that of a mere werewolf. And I will not let Cassandra break me.

"Whatever you have planned, I will not submit to your cruelty," I say, my voice low and fierce. "I am a princess of this pack, and I will not be broken by the likes of you."

Cassandra's eyes narrow at my words, her grip on the vial tightening. But I hold her gaze, refusing to look away.

"Your arrogance will be your downfall, Diane," she hisses, taking another step closer.

"Let's see how much of a hybrid you truly are," she taunts, her hand gripping tightly onto a vial of wolfsbane. Before I can react, she forces it into my hand, her grip unyielding as she compels me to ingest the poisonous substance.

The taste of the wolfsbane is acrid on my tongue, burning as it slides down my throat. My muscles begin to seize up with agonizing pain, and I struggle to remain standing. Despite this, I refuse to show any weakness in front of Cassandra.

"Is that all you've got?" I grit out through clenched teeth, desperation and defiance warring within me.

Cassandra chuckles darkly, her gaze unwavering as she watches me writhe in agony. "Oh no, my dear princess. This is only the beginning."
