Chapter 1 1

Chapter 1 1

Diana's POV

The bartender and several customers filled several bar tables until they were shocked to hear me, screaming and cursing at the man I had just met tonight for no apparent reason. Just because I was confused about the affair problem I was facing. A glimmer of consciousness in me understands that what I am doing now is not a justified action. I cried sobbing because my mind was really confused.

However, instead of snapping back, pushing away the hand that was tightly gripping his tie, or pushing me away from bothering him, the man gently and warmly pulled my head away, buried it in his chest, letting me cry out in his arms.

The bartender, who realized that I was out of control because I drank too much, started to rush, came out of the bar counter, and approached the two of us. "Miss! You should get out right now! Don't disturb the comfort of other customers because of your behavior!" the bartender snapped as he tried to pull my arm.

Without letting go of his hug, the man intervened, preventing the bartender from throwing me out. "That's it, that's it. Just let it go. The day that passed might be very difficult. I don't mind," prevented the man. "Can I borrow a room? This lady needs to rest. Just for a moment."

The bartender put his hands on his hips, rubbed his forehead, and sighed his breath. "Goodness," said the bartender who was surprised by my behavior. "Well. Since it's late and my employees have finished their shifts, use the room on the second floor. But remember! There is an additional fee if you want to use that room. After all, this is not a motel!"

Still letting me cry out, without letting go of his embrace, the man reached into his back pocket, took out his wallet, and took out five hundred American dollar bills, then gave them to the bartender. "Put this Miss' drink on my bill too. If it's still not enough, just say so. The important thing is that this Miss can't calm herself down," he said after giving the money.

The bartender's annoyed face turned smiling when he received five hundred dollars from the man. "Okay. Please use the room."

After receiving the money, the bartender returned to his work desk. "Miss. Let's go to the room. You need rest. It's okay, calm yourself," said the man quietly as he patted my back.

Satisfied with venting my tears until my tears wet his jacket, I slowly let go of his embrace and then wiped my tears. Know if the man is willing to borrow a room bartender just for me, I intend to take the suitcase near my seat to take to the room. However, my steps were too unsteady, my body was too heavy to even walk.

My body would probably have slammed hard onto the floor if the man hadn't quickly grabbed my hand. "That's it. Let me do it," he said, offering to carry my suitcase.

"Sorry. I drank too much. You don't need to help me this far. I've already caused you a lot of trouble."

"It's no big deal. It's better than having you thrown out, right?"

"Sorry about earlier. But, what's your name?"

"Cooper. Jonathan Cooper. Just call him John."

"Diana Sanchez. Nice to meet you."

We got to know each other while shaking hands. I don't meet many men who are willing to help a drunk woman. What's more, after receiving a shout. Because in reality, America is not a country that has many good men. I dare to say this because I have had an unpleasant experience.

Anyway, after getting acquainted, John led me towards the room given by the bartender. John's left hand gently embraced my hip, to keep me from falling because I was drunk. While his left hand carried my suitcase. A unique way of meeting, but not bad either. Because at this point, a new chapter of my life has begun. That night my intention to return to Arizona did not come true.

John slowly and gently led me to bed after finding the bartender's room. I immediately lay down, without taking off my jacket first, immediately buried my face in the pillow, and hugged it, all the discomfort in my body immediately melted away as soon as I felt the softness of the mattress.

John hurried away after taking me to my room, intending to leave me alone. I quickly grabbed his wrist. He stopped walking and sat back on the edge of the bed.

"John. If possible, accompany me a little longer. At least until I sleep," I asked softly.

John flashed a warm smile, he slowly released his grip on my hand and then returned to holding my palm to the back of my hand. Trying to make me feel comfortable and calm with a warm and gentle hand.

"Don't worry. I might be able to accompany you a little longer," he replied warmly. "It would be very sad if there was no one to accompany you when you were sad, wouldn't it?"

My smile brightened as soon as John accepted my request. I quickly got up and sat with my back against the back of the bed. Intended to chat longer with John.

"If you don't mind, try telling me about your problems. Until you get drunk in this bar," he asked. "It's okay if you don't want to tell me. I just want to make your burden lighter."

This face forces a smile. Shaking his head gently with teary eyes. "It's okay. I don't mind telling stories," I answered.

However, what the mind feels is not in harmony. John's request had reminded me of the affair again. What an asshole Tyler is to play crazy behind my back. The state of my body, which was almost completely drunk, made it difficult for me to control my emotions, I burst into tears again, and I sobbed while covering my face with both hands.
