A BIG smile flashed across the lips of Nikka Bianca or Ian to her friends as she walked down the long hallway towards the University Gym here at the University she attends — Saint Vincent University. She is currently in her fifth year of the Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineer course and if she is lucky she will graduate this year. She is diligent in her studies and even if the course she was taking is hard, she was slightly confident that she would do well.

But despite that she still loved the course she was taking. Because that was also the course her father took when he was in college. Her father, Nikolas Bernabe, was an engineer, which is why she took the same course when she went to college. She idolized her father and loved him dearly. Daddy's girl, that's what her Mama called her because she was so close to her father.

Her father dreamed of accompanying her on stage on the day of her graduation. That is why she worked so hard to fulfill her father's dream. But unfortunately, he will not see her walk up the stage to get up her diploma.

His father had a heart attack and in his last attack his heart could not handle it. Her Dad died when she was not by his side. Her Dad died before she could even be seen. Her Dad died before she could even be seen on stage.

She felt great grief when she learned that her father had passed away. If it weren't for her Mom, she might not be able to handle everything. But she has to be strong back then, for her Mama as well. Because no matter how much suffering and hardship she goes through, her Mother feels twice as much. For her mother lost her other half.

When her Dad died she tried to be strong for the two of them her Mom. He is only a child so he has no other helper while taking care of his Mama. Not that her mother was invalid, far from it. Her mother is strong but she seems to have lost her will to live since her father died. That is why even though he was still hurting and grieving at those times, he put it aside first to give strength to his Mother.

But a lot seems to have changed since her Dad died. Suddenly, his Mama became distant from him. It had been cold dealing with him and it seemed as if if it treated him he didn’t exist. She didn’t know what had happened but suddenly her Mom changed. The funny, smart and witty Beatriz suddenly… vanished. To take over there was a sad, cold and lifeless Beatriz.

He was hurt by the change when his mother treated him but he just understood that. He understood that his mother was like that because she had lost her husband. But sometimes he couldn't help but sulk because it seemed to hate him. It seems to have forgotten that there was an Ian who also lost a Father. In fact, it seems that not only her Dad is missing, but also her Mom.

If it wasn't for his insistence on living on his own, he might have given up forever. He is also hurt but he puts it aside. And if it wasn't for Aiden's help, he might have given up a long time ago, not only to his Mother but also to his life.

Ah, Aiden. She smiled as she remembered her boyfriend's smiling, bright and handsome face. She met Aiden at the height of her grief over the death of her Dad. Aiden Lee, that’s her boyfriend’s full name, her boyfriend who supported her from the very beginning. It did not abandon him and leave him even if his own mother left him in the air. He's always there for her when she needed him. Even then he never experienced that he was alone because of Aiden. That's why she loves her boyfriend so much.

Aiden was also a student here at Saint Vincent. He’s taking up Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer and as such he is in his fifth year as well and graduating this year. He is also a member of the Basketball Varsity of their University. In fact, his classmate Mico is even his teammate.

Because Aiden is a member of the varsity, a lot of people also like it. Add to that that her boyfriend is handsome. Aiden was half Korean-half Filipino. The man is tall, which is common in people with mixed foreign blood. Many people like her boyfriend so sometimes she wonders what he liked about her.

She is just an ordinary woman. In fact, he was even boyish when he acted. Because maybe that was due to the influence of her Dad. If she dresses it is just a simple blouse or shirt that she wears with jeans. Her long hair was always tied up and sometimes she even put a cap on it. Her friend Arianne said that she was beautiful, she just said that she was too rude to act.

He just didn't pay attention to that because in his heart he knew she was a woman. If not why would he love Aiden, right?

And speaking of Aiden, he’s going to do it now because he wants to surprise it. That's why he was crossing the hallway to the University Gym because he knew that's where Aiden was lying now. She wants to surprise him because today is the fifth month since the man became her boyfriend. She wants to show here her gift here, the cake she herself baked.

He even struggled to do that last night because he wanted the fifth month of their love affair to be memorable. See? How could he be stingy if there was cheesy blood flowing to his liver and ballooning?

When he got to the door of the Gym he had already prepared his sweetness smile. He saw Aiden inside the Gym with his teammates. They even wore jerseys and played in the middle of the ring. Because Aiden turned his back on him he didn't notice him right away.

Her apt call to the man was stopped when a voice was heard from the side of the Gym. He did not know why but suddenly his heart pounded, for no apparent reason.

"You're really great, Aiden."

He turned to the source of that voice and Opal's smiling face appeared on him. He knew the woman because she was Aiden's classmate. Aiden once introduced him here and because he was naturally old he immediately remembered the woman's face.

"That shot was for you, Opal babes."

He stiffened from his stand when he heard Aiden answer that. Aiden immediately focused his eyes and saw Opal looking at it okay. There was even a smile on Aiden's lips and his small eyes seemed to be blinking as his eyes focused on Opal.

What's the meaning of this?

It was as if a knife had pierced his heart because of what he saw. He did not want to give malice to what he heard and saw but he seemed to be blinded by jealousy and pain. Jealous because he sees Aiden smiling at that woman, a smile he knows is only exclusive for him. Pain because of the twinkle in his eye that only one means, he's happy. It's fun. Why? Because maybe Opal was there.

“Thanks, Aiden babes. Go! Shoot some more! ”

That cry of Opal's stirred his mind. He didn't take his eyes off Aiden and he could clearly see the wide smile on his lips as his eyes focused on Opal. Pain slashed her heart when she saw him winked at her. Aiden has a girlfriend but why is he flirting okay Opal? Doesn't it love him anymore?

"I will Opal babes, for you."

He heard something fall which is why Aiden turned to him. He could clearly see the shock on its face and the passing guilt expression in its eyes. But you also lost your recovery immediately. Maybe that was just his imagination.

"W-what's the meaning of this, Aiden?" he asked the man weakly, he seemed to have lost his strength while looking at it.

"Hey, let's leave Aiden and Ian here first." she heard the language of one perhaps of Aiden’s teammates but she ignored that and kept sight of her boyfriend.

"Explain." he said when everyone got out of the Gym and they were the only two left. 'He didn't even try to approach the man because he seemed to have been stabbed in his position.

Aiden didn't even try to approach him. Instead it remained standing in the middle of the ring and staring at him. Silence enveloped the two of them as Aiden did not answer his question. But later it also answered.

"I'm not happy with our relationship anymore, Ian." he said in a cold voice, in a voice new to his hearing. He had never heard Aiden speak like this, it was cold and emotionless.

"N-not happy anymore?" he repeats what it said. Maybe he just made a mistake when he heard what he said. Maybe his ear was just playing with him.

The man just nodded and didn't say a word. At the same time was the blurring of his vision. It seemed all of a sudden he couldn’t breathe because of the severe pain that resided in his heart. If only he could ask to disappear in front of it now.

"Y-you're breaking up with me." that’s more confirmation than the question.

Aiden nodded and held out both hands and explained. “I suddenly get tired on what we have, Ian. The spark is gone, the excitement. Even my love for you is gone. ”
