“Come on,” he said softly.

“Where?” I asked, though I let him pull me along anyway.

“You’ll see.” He guided me toward the outdoor deck, where the infinity pool blended seamlessly into the ocean beyond. Lanterns had been lit around the space, their glow soft and golden as the sun finally dipped below the horizon. I stopped walking.

“Dominic…” He watched my reaction closely, something almost vulnerable flickering in his eyes.

“Too much?” he asked.

“It’s perfect,” I whispered. A small smile tugged at his lips, relief clear in the way his shoulders relaxed.
